Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

3 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Been meaning to mention this. I bought some name-brand, big dollar, high zoot paint care product. I won't mention the brand 'cause I don't wanna start off another *which is better thread*. Anyhow, I clayed, then I *micro-polished*, then I waxed using *laser trimmed micro fiber polishing cloths*. Whatta pain in the *ss. Took me probably 8 hours of hand rubbing and buffing and all that.. And when I was finished, for the first time I could look down the drivers side and notice that there's about 4 inches of orange-peel (AKA Fat Lady's ***) from the top of the door, extending forward towards the headlights and rearwards towards the spoiler. Right there under the clear coat. Not bad, but if you know what to look for it's there. It ain't perfect. My son sees it as well. My wife thinks we're nuts.

POST 2Original post

It needs wet sanding to remove the orange peel then a repolish to bring back the shine.

Tippy Wrote: *It needs wet sanding to remove the orange peel then a repolish to bring back the shine.* never happen. I cut through the clear coat then I'm gonna need a new clear coat. When I was in high school I worked part time in a body shop that specialized in exotic/collectable cars. Porsche, Pachard, Bughatti, Lambo, Masseratti, 16 cylinder Cadillacs, AC Cobras, T Model Fords. I spent a lot of hours with a piece of wet/dry sandpaper in my hand (mostly wet).
