Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I run Toyo Proxes T-1R on my 19" 997 rims - great street tire, great ride and grip, and wear has been fine so far.
Leading evidence: 'Run toyo proxes t-1r' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, the most frequently mentioned possible cause is 'best tire i could recommend' (1 discussions; 0 report identifying it and 1 suggest it). The most frequently discussed action is 'Check ebay and you'll probably find some sets popping up' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. I've seen some guys run Falken FK-452's.....about 200 for the rears.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hi guys. I have a 996, which is riding on 19" (997) wheels and tires. My question is in regard to purchasing new tires, which Ill have to do shortly. Unlike most of you, I'd rather sacrifice performance in order to have longer-lasting tires with firmer rubber. I know that probably sounds like sacrilege, but I just dont need my car to perform that well - I spend most of my time driving around town at law-abiding speeds (usually anyway).
If anyone has advice for me I'd appreciate it. Is there any particular brand that makes longer-lasting (albeit probably worse performing) tires? Thanks in advance for any help.

pirelli p zero nero tires are really good an a last pretty long... they are most likely the best tire i could recommend.. might look at a yokohama yk520 but not sure if it comes in your size and its no where near as good at the p zero nero... the bridgstone mentioned above is also really good. maybe michelin pilot exalto a/s but we had a problem with them on an audi once so yeah... i work at discount tires by the way so that what i ment by we... best bet the p zero nero
I've seen some guys run Falken FK-452's.....about 200 for the rears. Very good wear, not too loud, and sticky enough. I'm going to get them when the time comes. I have them on my '85....lov'em.

Your problem is going to be the lack of selection for your 19" rims - I think I counted 4 manufacturers that even produced tires that fitted the profile and widths required for our 997 rims.

I am going to need them on my 18s coming up. Unlike JL though, I need really good performing tires becuase I habitually break the speed limit due to the fact that I drive to and from work when everyone else is sleeping and I have an open road. Unfortunately, i do need something that lasts long. I have the PZERO Rossos and they are loud and obnoxious. And the Pilot sports are really expensive, any recos.
