Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Changed my porsche and bought one of these. Highly reccommended with lots of grip and lots of looks. Do not now why I am still posting here. Just out of habit I guess :0)

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I work at home, so whenever I get a chance I am going to take it out. It really is too beatiful a car to do some of the jobs I did in the porsche. Like shopping etc was better with the 2 "back seats" and I will take the beater. More for weekend trips and pure fun. I do not do a lot of miles in the week but when I go away I really go away and put 1000 miles on it per trip.

POST 6 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Quotes source post: 4556048

Haha, actually yes. I am going to get winter tires on it. It is really the wrong time of year to buy a ferrarri so as long as there is no snow I am going to take it out.

POST 7Original post

Very nice, please keep posting here. I for one, love Ferrari's.

POST 8Original post

Care4era, thanks for the pics, your 360 looks amazing. Enjoy it in good health. I'd love to see more pics and get your impressions of the car compared to your old Carrera 4.

POST 9 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

2 more pics. That is all I took today So first impression for handling it is really stable at high speeds just like the C4 but the steering feels lighter and the car feels a lot lighter but again I emphasize the stability here. Amazing grip! The F1 transmission is great fun. I did not think I would like it coming from a manual porsche but I got used to it quickly and it is great for quick gear changes. I have a triptronic in my BMW but it is not the same as the paddles, it gives you a more involved feeling and great for quick changes. The engine is fooking great. I do not know why porsche do not make that sound. They both a have a 3.6 litre engine but the ferrari roar is absolutely mental! For acceleration it would beat my C4 and the power top end is pretty amazing as it just keeps coming. I often found myself driving 230km/h without any effort at all, in the C4 I would notice that more. The minus is fuel comsumption compared to a P car. The interior is more beautiful and more airy than the C4 but the downside is that there is no onboard computer, satnav etc and a crap stereo. Just a few buttons here and there to push. More of a race car feel. As for looks, I think it is gorgeous and unfortunately do meer mortals too That is both flattering and annoying at the same time with kids getting their mobiles out to put you on youtube later in the evening. The porsche is a good looking car but the ferrari is a supermodel and everyone wants to check you out. Anyway, as a conclusion now I am pretty happy with with my choice. It has more than lived up to my expectations so far. If you have the money, go and buy one asap.

POST 11Original post

Looks awesome. How much did a used 360 set you back?

POST 13Original post

Quotes source post: 4556297

Very nice car care4era! Enjoy the 360 in good health; at least 360 days/year! Really, do you think so? Which one did you mean?

Schweet Thang! Congratulations! Enjoy it safely!

POST 20Original post

Congrats on the purchase, unfortunately never had a chance to own a 360, had a 348 for a couple of years though. One fact- a drive in a Ferrari is always an occassion. Every one should own one at least once in their life. Will definitely be back, hopefully in a 430 one day... now get subscribed on Ferrarichat and enjoy her in good health!

POST 21Original post

Okay let's make a deal....you can keep on posting here....BUT only when you attach images to your post!! Love F cars.....but don't think that my wallet would!! I can only imagine what the maintenance on a F is. Beautiful car and yes you are right...Porsches are pretty (like commercial models) Ferrari's are supermodels!!

POST 22Original post

I can only imagine what the maintenance on a F is. It's not that difficult to estimate. You simply take the maintenance charge that you incurred for your Porsche and then double that number and then square it and you'll have a good approximation. My boss owns an 05 F430 Spider and it is without doubt a head turner with performance to match, but we are talking about some serious money: over $200K for the car and five figures for scheduled maintenance.

POST 23Original post

That looks great congrats!! Looking for the same but in yellow next summer. Keep us posted re: maintanence.....

POST 24Original post

I like the car, but would hate the maintenance and inability to drive it everyday.

POST 25Original post

Interesting, I am on my way to do the same thing. Same color! Congrate on owning one of the greatest car ever!

POST 26 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

It seems like money is the main object for people not getting a ferrari but with winter coming you can get a deal and drive for free for 8 months or so. Also this is the most reliable ferrari to date so servicing is less of an issue. I have heard normal servcing can be 1-4$k. Not so bad really The car cost me 99k euro, so that is a decision you need to take first of all if you are driving a 5 year old 996 you are going to have to come up with a lot more cash to get into the game. As for the everyday driving, you can do what you like depending on how **** you are For me there are just too many 996's 997's around now and I would only swap what I have now for a 997 turbo or a gallardo. Don't get me wrong I love porsches but after 2 years driving one I needed a change.

POST 27Original post

I'd say that is a nice change- for me a change is burger king instead of mcdonalds- you suck and congrats!

POST 28Original post

1 to 4K for maintenance is pretty good....and you are rigth you can drive any car everyday....good thing with a P is that noone really cares about it.....when parking a Ferrari you will get a lot of watchers and touchers! 100K for car and 4K in maintenance is pretty damn good!! Mmmmhhhh now I have to convince my wife!

Nicolaasdb, unfortunatley is was euros not USD. At todays rate 99,000.00 EUR = 136,297.93 USD. You are right about the parking. You cannot leave it parked anywhere too obvious as you will have people's jean rivets etc scratching the paintwork. Best is if you have a parking spot at work and at home and don't stop anywhere between.

POST 30Original post

It's funny, I was down in Philly last weekend and the parking lot we chose had one of these sitting in a chained off parking spot. It was a really sad sight to see this beautiful blue Ferrari 360 sitting under a very very thick layer of dust - the car must not have moved in over a year to get a layer of junk over it like that. That is the saddest sight I've ever seen. I turned to my family and commented that it was sitting there because Ferrari owners are afraid to drive their cars. I don't know what is worse - driving it and risking an occasional scratch, or letting it sit there gathering dust and slowly rotting away. Is it a greater crime to risk a racehorse during a race, or to let it get fat standing in the stable? I know where I stand. Drive it baby!

POST 31Original post

Quotes source post: 4558282

I didn't know Phil owned a Ferrari!

POST 32Original post

Quotes source post: 4558355

I did think of Phil, but kept that to myself - probably his brother's car! I should have taken a photograph, but to be honest it was just too sad a sight, plus the lighting was pretty bad. It makes you wonder, because in my eyes the fact it was covered in dust just drew more attention to it - each time we walked by someone was standing at the side of it looking in the windows and leaning against it.

POST 33Original post

Beautiful car - if it was me, and I could buy a machine like that, I would not fraternize with schmucks like us any more. Congrats!

POST 34Original post

a complete upgrade in every way. i test drove a 997TT this weekend and there's still no question i'd take a ferrari 360+ over the fastest 911. i'm def more of an f-car guy than p-car guy not that the 911 p-car isn't freakin' awesome in and of itself. congrats and hope to join you soon! i'd love a challenge stradale.

POST 35Original post

The 360 is definitely an awesome ride. I was asking my friend that had a 360 what maintenance was like and if anything went wrong with it. He said it was under warranty so he only paid some maintenance but the water pump did go on it. The warranty covered it and it would have been about $9K if paid out of pocket! He upgraded to an F430 and yes still under warranty.

POST 36Original post

Quotes source post: 4559732

I think its going to be awhile before I can spend 9K on a water pump- must be a an amazing pump- holy *&^%

great movie only if u love porsche

POST 39Original post

Beautiful car...congrats. I use to want an F car but now I crave race cars instead. Same amount of money and I can beat the cra.. out of them and not feel bad Racing is a disease not easily cured

POST 40Original post

Nice ride. About 90 of them right now on ebay. I wouldn't mind adding it to the stable, but no place to service them in my area. You can get one in the low 100's presently.

POST 41Original post

Very nice. Do you have a Ferrari dealer in Prag?

POST 43 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Yep and Maserati, Lambo, Porsche as well as all the usual other makes as BMW, MERC, AUDI.

POST 44Original post

yeah...me I decided to to just wait for the 08 Scuderia bootleg unveiling video http://www.autoblog.com/2007/09/04/v...ia-pre-reveal/

POST 45Original post

I love your car no doubt and love Ferrari's, but still would personally love to have a 997TT next, have to quench the final Porsche thirst before moving on!

POST 46Original post

i drove the 997TT, flogged it a bit... 360 modena is much more fun and the necks do snap

POST 47 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

The only thing about the TT is it looks pretty much the same as the others. I do not know why they do that. Same as the GT3. It is not until you get to the carrera GT that you see it is a real supercar. The TT IS a super car but I wish they would make it look a bit more like one. The untrained eye cannot tell the difference between a C2 and a TT apart from a few spoilers. Too subtle IMO.

POST 48Original post

Quotes source post: 4568998

Perhaps, but I would not drive a 360 all year, or when it rained, or looked damp out.

POST 49Original post

Quotes source post: 4569088

i don't even do that with my slow4s. and yea the beauty of the 997 turbo is that you get supercar performance with sub 4second 60times, without the supercar sound/dynamics, with the daily driver reliability and comfort and attn level that doesn't make a trip to the store a community conversation topic. for someone that's looking for something more "special" the f-car is it

POST 51 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Raid, what are you getting next, I see you change cars every 3 years. Now is 07 and you bought in 04, so time for a 997?

POST 52Original post

Quotes source post: 4569264

Well, I bought my C4S so I'd like to keep it since it really has been rock solid. When I get another one it would have to be a step up, 996 Turbo S Cabriolet, or 997 Turbo Cab. Either choice will send my wife into cardiac arrest so I'll have to plan around that.

POST 53 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Fair enough, keep going for years the P cars. Just buy and tell the wife later. Be manipulative like they are

POST 54Original post

997 Turbo cab would be nice, Ill have to consider that bridge when I come to it. But the Ferrari is almost impossible to pass up if the funds are readily available. Still gotta create my own corporate ladder for others to climb before that!

POST 55Original post

Quotes source post: 4569069

Not for us naturally-aspirated 996 owners. I'm pretty sure that my mother-in-law believes I'm driving a $130k car (it's really a MY99 C4), and I don't correct her because I think it drives her nuts. That's OK with me.

POST 56Original post

Quotes source post: 4569281

Plan: Buy $160K of life insurance on her. Then tell her about the 997 TT Cab. After she goes into cardiac arrest, you can put her to "rest" and pay cash for the 997 TTCab. Problem solved.

POST 57 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Quotes source post: 4570220

I like 996's tooloud. I am thiking about trading my bmw 330ci in for an oldie like you or an Audi S6. In each case it must have 4 wheel drive.

POST 58Original post

Quotes source post: 4570513

My wife's life insurance policy is over a million dollars, I keep offering her raw clams. I think she's on to me.

POST 59Original post

You guys are making me want a 997TT Cab bad!!!! I might have to make some moves soon!

POST 60 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Funny thing in the world is whatever you have someone always has something better. There is a guy who parks in my local garage during the day. Usually drives his 997 TT 99% of the time. I guess he saw the new arrival and drove his Zonda in today to show who is the boss Man, he is the boss

POST 61Original post

Quotes source post: 4572297

If by boss you mean tool, then I agree.

POST 62 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Quotes source post: 4572317

Yeah, he is a rich tool for sure. I wish I was the tool sitting in the Zonda though

POST 63Original post

He may be the boss but you the MAN! I do agree unless your last name is Gates (as in the real Bill)someone will always be richer, faster, better dressed etc...key to life is be happy with what you have. I have lived in some hell holes and then moved into a bombed out aircraft hanger with an AC and thought I was in heaven, again it is always perspective.
