Met Brian, bk12, last week. What a nice guy. He drove all the way up from southern Cal, so I could work some "muffler magic" on his beautiful 996. Also installed a SSK while he was here. He brought his friend Rob, another nice guy.
I knew when I fired his car up, after the muffler swap, when all I could see was this big smile come across his face, that a new friendship was formed.We enjoyed some cold Coronas, after the work was done.

Thanks for the nice post Darin. Well, I drove all the way up from Orange County to have Darin do the work. I called around locally, and found nobody I felt really comfortable letting do the work at less than a crazy price. Darin is a Porsche guy and an incredible welder, and did the work for a great price, so I figured I would make the trip. Darin also let me install the SSK while he was doing the mufflers and made everything I needed available to me and provided a 2nd opinion on things when needed. Well worth the trip as he did a great job. The drive back over the mountains and down the coast made for a great return.
Darin is a great guy and a good host. We had a nice time chatting it up while working, and everything was done in short order. Highly recommended for anyone thinking of doing something similar.
