Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

4 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

My 1998 996 3.4 Manual has / had cruise control. Worked great until it stopped working. Can anyone enlighten me on how it works and are all the key components near the throttle pedal. I had the garage look at it and have checked the fuses and the clutch switch etc so all the obvious triggers. I am not sure how it works and where to check. Positives: The fuse is good The light comes on It did work. I did remove the drivers side carpet and so the throttle pedal was removed from floor and then refitted. I am not sure if it worked after this or not - so could this have upset it? Where to check What to check Any knowledge would be good as the internet seems a little dry of cruise control information for the 996 - unless I have missed something Thanks Ian
