Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. I checked the manual, and it turns out there are lights on the instrument cluster that flash repeatedly to let you know the turn indicators are on.
Leading evidence: 'Check manual, and it turns out there are lights' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Check manual, and it turns out there are lights' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

With that I installed an LED "clicker" relay which turns out to be quite a bit louder than the original.

The company car ('12 Focus) is silent so Ford installed a noise generator that give a fake clicking sound when the signals are on.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

My 2002 cab has turn signals that, when activated, work fine except you can barely hear the clicking sound that goes with the blinkers.
Any way to turn up the turn signal volume? Thanks!
I'm LOVIN' my 996!

#1: The "clicking" noise is usually a function of the turn signal relay on cars I've messed with. I don't believe that is adjustable.
#2: Why do you want it louder?
Perhaps try a new flasher relay. Top row of the relay panel 3rd from the left

Gets my vote too. I hate the "click...click...click...", it's like Chinese water torture. I really like how quiet it is. On our new Cayman, it's even quieter.
You're kidding right?
People honk and point at me all the time because I've left my signal on.....can't hear it.
This is fairly common question over the years....this and other boards.
So the complaint is that Bosch relays are too quiet?

Why do people not scan the instruments as part of driving? In addition to allowing you to notice when you've ripped off your direct oil feed line and lost all oil pressure, or the temperature has deviated from the upper left quadrant of the "0" in "180" to another quadrant, or the blinker fluid supply is nearly depletion, or the blinking light on the temperature gauge yelling about one of the dozen things that damn thing can gripe about, you also get to see how fast you're going. Handy info! "
Do you know how fast you were going
" is supposed to be a rhetorical question...
My turn signals are not loud enough: solid candidate for the "first-world problems" list...
Wife's Mini makes a really annoying tock tock tock tock tock tock sound for the turn signals. Drives me crazy. I don't use turn signals anyway. Why give away where I'm going? Let them figure it out.
OP, it would be trivial to add a piezo buzzer - or even a remote relay that clicks somewhere closer to you - if you have any electronics background. If not, I could probably draw you up a simple schematic*.
While I do want to tease you more about this, it wouldn't be a big deal to "fix."
*Full disclosure: I'm also the guy whose dash emits smoke when my headlights are on, and I can't f*****g figure out why, so you may or may not want to accept electrical advice from me.
OP is a musician (and a good one!), so like me is likely challenged a bit in the auditory dept. I too find I've left my signal on occasionally (doh!), and think our signal clicks are on the quiet side, but can't say I've thought about making them louder.
But I understand OP's request.
I switched to all LED bulbs and the Depo LED tails. With that I installed an LED "clicker" relay which turns out to be quite a bit louder than the original. Not obnoxious but louder. I bought the relay and my LED bulbs from SuperbrightLEDs.com
Works like every other turn signal. The deef people just want it to be louder.
One additional airbag charge under the driver seat triggered after 100 consecutive turn signal blinks with the car in motion might help the situation...
Old thread but if anyone is still in need of a solution.....here ya go.

It turns the 'click' into a tone or beep that you may even want to muffle....or not....but it's definitely audible and for me, not objectionable.
I have a highly modified turbo track car that occasionally is on the roads and I'm glad to not have the silent turn signal any longer......still working on getting better hearing aids
