Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

6 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

so my factory warranty is going to expire on friday. i had a PPI-like inspection done and one of the things the tech found was a bad battery. their tester showed very high impedance and he told me even though my battery holds the charge and car starts fine, it is bad. when i took my car in for service/repairs (getting a new steering rack), i mentioned it to the service adviser. however, the dealer said that their battery tester showed the battery to be fine "as far as the warranty is concerned" so my question is multi-part: since i dont know much about how battery works, what is high impedance? is it something i should escalate to Porsche Customer Service and get them to replace? or should i just pay $100-$200 and get a new battery and forget about this whole thing? or should i just keep on driving until existing battery dies? thanks....

POST 4Original post

the battery isn't covered under warranty so you don't have much to say to PCNA

POST 5Original post

High impedance effects a car battery the same way restricted arteries and blood vessels effect impotence. Your battery MAY want to crank hard and long, but can't get enough flow to make it happen.

POST 6 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

so where do i get a new battery from?
