HELP, dealer wrecked my P!!! take 1
Thread start
OP:
Oh no, dealer wrecked my P, what should I do?
Rennlist Comment:
Demand that it gets fixed and have them buy it back, or give you diminished value.
OP:
They'll fix it, but that's it...
Dealer:
We'll fix it, that's it!!!
Rennlist Comment:
Sue the dealer, they suck!!!
OP:
Really?
Rennlist Comment:
No, try to negotiate first. Then lawyer-up, if you have to. Then, SUE THEIR ***** OFF!!!
OP:
Does anyone know anything about this dealer?
Rennlist Comment:
They are bad, and the owners daughter is awesome, bend her over (or something)
Dealer:
I bow down to you, oh great Rennlist, best board that's ever been. Please don't talk bad about our dealership, we're the best Porsche dealer that's ever existed. We stand for perfection. We're one step from becoming THE SUPREME BEINGS of ALL P-Car land... and don't talk about my daughter or I'll cry -- and maybe even sue you... but please don't hate us...
John D:
I'm closing this thread, cause the Porsche-dealer was crying. If they don't hook up the OP, we'll open this thread back up, and rip 'em apart like rabid dogs, good-day!

So far as I could tell he didn't do a damn thing except say he was gonna do something and then subtley imply that if we didn't stop he was gonna get weally weally mad. I really really hope we get a final outcome on this one.
What blows my mind about the whole thing is the dealership even implying that there was no diminished value. For any dealership to imply that is ridiculous. For a Porsche dealer, or any luxury dealer, to imply that is beyond my comprehension. They use electronic paint meters on these cars when you trade them in to gauge paint thickness just in case the paint repair was high quality. Bottom line is that the car was brought in with no damage and was returned with damage. He should have a car with no damage returned to him. Period. End of story. If the dealer isn't capable of stepping up and doing that they are pathetic and shouldn't be trusted to sell or service a Yugo, much less a Porsche. The real easy way for this to end is for the dealer to pay the car's owner for the retail pre-collision value of the car, plus something for being a pain in the hiney. Then the car's owner should go to a better dealership, which shouldn't be too difficult, and buy a replacement.
No diminishing value hah? Don't they sell Porsches and high-end exotic cars? Why the h!@# doesn't the owner buy the 996 at excellent retail value price, have his bodyshop fix it for $6000 and sell it back at excellent retail value? He would not loose any money and everyone is happy.
If I was the owner that is what I would have done, especially if I am the one saying there is no diminishing value.
