Read evidence and context
Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I guess it depends on what you consider high end then....Focal has 3 lines, a low mid and high end line....The models I used are the middle line.
Leading evidence: 'Use are the middle line' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Replace factory, opinions/suggestions' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

One thing to know for GREAT sound is to match your speakers and amp....one set of speakers can sound COMPLETELY different with 2 different brands of amps...After my research I went with Focal speakers and Audison amps......JL Audio subs...JL Audio amps have a boxy or closed high end...it sounds compressed....not open...Audison makes an amazing amp....I use the LRX 6.9...plenty of power for all the speakers in your car....I have Focal 165V3E 3 way seperates...6.5" woffer in the door, 4" mid and 1" tweeter in the dash....All fit in the stock locations.

I was looking at Polk Audio speakers to replace factory, opinions/suggestions?

I need 2 tweeters and 4 midrange to replace factory, right?

Audison also has a low end and high end line.....I used the high end, but there is a low end as well....Also if you consider my system high end....what do you consider a Reus system?

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I've searched around Rennlist and haven't really found any recent stuff that I'm looking for.
Just wanted to see if anyone had opinions on any new, midrange-priced stuff.
I was looking at Polk Audio speakers to replace factory, opinions/suggestions?
I'd love to do a sub/amp as well, but don't want to go crazy and spend a ton. Any idea's on brand and placement?? Also, anyone that has an amp/sub set-up with pics, I'd love to see.
My favorites are JL audio for subs and amps. It is possible to have a small enclosure built for 2 JL 8W3 8" wooofers that fits on the package shelf in back of the car. This is the same place that the Bose system fits. You cold run them with 1 JL 250/1 mono block amp. This would be a bullit proof system.

or this amp to run the sub and speakers:

As far as speaker go. My absolute favorites are Dynaudio, but at ~$1,000 a set they are way out of my price range. However you can get 95% of the sound quality (* In my opinion) from a set of Pioneer Premiers.

These can be had for ~$350 and sound awesome.

The 6.5" door speakers take some modifications to get them in the door pods as the stock speaker is 5 1/4". The rears I have Focal 100V 2 way seperates. 4" mid and 1" tweeter. Again, they fit in the stock location. For the sub I have a JL Audio 8w3V2D2 8" sub in a AI Design custom enclosure. Since I have a cab, it fits in the footwell...I would suggest 2 8" subs in a box in your rear deck.....All my speakers are driven from my Audison amp which is in 5 channel mode and has crossovers built in for all the speakers...This system will work for ANY type of music...I listen to Jazz, R&B, Hip-Hop, etc...all sounds awesome....its amazingly clear....A few people have heard my car and said they have never heard a system SO CLEAR. The Focal/Audison combo is amazing....great quality.

GO HERE...Geez...the guy designs systems FOR PORSCHES.....he knows what he is talking about and can sell you your stuff and guide you through installs, or just give you good advice on what sounds good and what doesnt......
Gant...I have a JL Amp and Sub combo (alpine head unit). I think it sounds great. I'm also in St. Louis if you want to meet up sometime and have a listen.
I don't have any pictures but the sub box (actually 2 subs) fits behind the rear seat and is very discreet. I didn't want to give anyone a reason to break a window.
Although excellent choices, I don't think focal and audison fall into "mid-range priced"
Gant, what is your budget, or your idea of "mid-range priced"?
Ya, I don't wanna go crazy. Just decent sound, Polk, JL, MTX...
I don't have a budget, just don't wanna go crazy.
I wanna do the factory speaks 1st and do the sub/amp later. I need 2 tweeters and 4 midrange to replace factory, right?
What sizes do I need? Four 5 1/4's, and two 1/2 Tweeter's?
I guess it depends on what you consider high end then....Focal has 3 lines, a low mid and high end line....The models I used are the middle line. Audison also has a low end and high end line.....I used the high end, but there is a low end as well....Also if you consider my system high end....what do you consider a Reus system? I think they go for about twice what I pay for mine.
