Can anybody recommend a good shop in the Sacramento area?
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Just picked up my fun car (at least for a decade or two), and it will need a 60K service soon. Can anybody recommend a good shop in the Sacramento area?
thanks!
I love IPB-Autosport in downtown Sacramento! They really know what they are doing and not only work on the cars but also race them. Here is the website.

IPB is a great shop...but depending upon where you live....i.e. Sacramento city limits or maybe further north in the Roseville and Placer County area....then there' also Salerno's Motorsports in Rocklin.
bonkur, Niello Porsche in Rocklin is fantastic. The were invaluable in the restoration of my 996. They just posted an ad in the Drifter magazine (local PCA) that they will beat anybody's written estimate. Their parts prices are high, but they will install customer supplied parts.
My favorite independant is Stewart's 1876 Stockton blvd ph# 731-7023. Michael is a fellow Porsche owner. They specialize in Italian and British. They are happy to work on German cars also. There are always fun cars to drool over there. Their prices are fantastic and their work is second to none.
If you decide you want to do the 60K service yourself - let me know. We are looking for a few good examples for a "Work on Cars Day" in the Roseville/Rocklin/Elk Grove/Sacramento area. You buy the parts we help you do the work (free).
Thanks for the recommendations! A co-worker also recommended Frank's. I'm a bit hesitant to go to Niello as I'm not anxious to pay dealer parts and labor rates.
My old shop, Autowerk, disappeared a few years ago... Anyone know what happened to Mike Taxara?
thanks!
Hmmm, now that sounds interesting too! I'll get back to you next week. Right now I'm getting ready to blast off on a 3-day, 900 mile excursion on my Aprilia sportbike (no straight roads allowed)!
Loren: I have about 5 or more guys with 928's and at least 3 with 996's who are interested in the prospect of a Work on Cars day and I think this idea would take off like a covey of quail if we organized it a bit. This is the sort of activitiy I think is a great way to meet newfolks with a DIY mentality, help each other out, or learn just by watching. GREAT idea.
