Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

7 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

  • Rennlist: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I have only had my 996 less than 3 months, and already put more than 12k miles on it. I never intended to drive it like this--- it was only intended to be a second car, but because of some things that recent changes in my life (those of you who read my thead in off topic know what I am talking about), I have had to drive it all over the damn east coast and it has become my only vehicle. What should be done at 90k miles? The car had rear main seal done around 68k miles, it doesn't leak a drop. Overall the car drives very well, no hic-ups what-so-ever, all the gauges read where they should, etc.

POST 2Original post

Do you have you checklists from the manual still? Calls for the following: major service (90K) Tranny oil change When was the last time you changed you brake fluid? What about your "lifetime coolant"? Last time plugs were changed? If you have the service history check to see the poly belt was changed at 60K.

POST 3Original post

Dell, is this the "serpentine" belt you are refering to, or something else? thanks, - Cam

POST 4Original post

Yeah. Sorry Cam, I should have clarified. It's actually a very easy DIY as well.

POST 5Original post

POST 7Original post

Thanks..... Yep, mine has been replaced recently, but I am closing in on 80,000 miles now & was wanting to verify I did not have another belt somewhere I did not know about.....
