Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Anyway, I used the A/C yesterday, and found that clutch take up and overall feel is much worse with the A/C on!

The compressor would change the way the engine revs trailed off, causing me to have to adjust the way I shifted, giving the car more gas, etc.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

2 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

1 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

Outcome without a verified action link

I turned the A/c off again, and all was good - clutch take up was back to normal, and the engine revs stayed more even when stepping on the clutch pedal, instead of dropping to almost zero.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I haven't been using the "auto" climate feature, since it has been cool out and there is no need for the compressor to be on. Anyway, I used the A/C yesterday, and found that clutch take up and overall feel is much worse with the A/C on! I even stalled the car a few times, because the engine revs fall rapidly when the compressor kicks in, causing the need to give it more gas when the light turns green. I turned the A/c off again, and all was good - clutch take up was back to normal, and the engine revs stayed more even when stepping on the clutch pedal, instead of dropping to almost zero. I noticed this same thing on my '87 Integra back in the day. The compressor would change the way the engine revs trailed off, causing me to have to adjust the way I shifted, giving the car more gas, etc. Anyone who is running the "auto" climate setting, try turning off the compressor and see if you notice what I am talking about!

It's true for most cars. AC saps power. Is there any way to use auto climate, but not have the frost icon on? I know in the M3 I could do this, but it seems like whenever I press auto on the 911, I can't disengage the AC option which kinda sux.
