Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

OK, I think I'm going to take the plunge and upgrade to GT3 seats, 6 pt harnesses and Tequipment harness roll bar. I'll take any advice anybody is willing to dish out, but my main questions are: 1) Where to buy? I've looked at Sunset and Suncoast and my local dealer (stealer?) so far. They are all about the same once shipping and taxes are accounted for. 2) GT3 seats - cloth or leather? Should I even bother trying to match my interior color? 3) I'm looking at the Schroth Profi II-6 harnesses, any reason to get the Porsche ones? Who makes the Porsche ones anyway? Thanks.

POST 2Original post

I bought my Bar and Seats from Suncoast .... Leather...... it's worth it. Schroth is a good belt... many here have them. I decided to go with Simpson, however, as they are in my area.

POST 3Original post

The GT3 seats are available in colors, it takes longer to get them. They look fabulous in tan. Cloth is Nomex for racing. Leather wears better and looks rich. The Porsche harness is by Scroth, very high quality and the adjusters work smoothly unlike the ones I've had from Leaf, Momo, Sabelt etc. You will need the optional sub belt bar which bolts under the seats to use the 6 pt harness. It is a great setup and the seats are very comfortable even on long drives. Best,

POST 4Original post

No. Just go with black. It looks good in all interiors and VERY easy to sell if you ever decide to part with them. I have had the cloth ones in my CAB that has graphite grey interior and looked GREAT and have the black leather in my GT# with has a black interior. Sure, easier intergration to the seat so you don't have to buy any harness clips from BK. Schroth. See link here..... BOTTOM OF THE PAGE OF THIS LINK

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks for the tips so far. So at what point in the driving learning experience do nomex seats become an issue? I don't want my a$$ to catch on fire What is the proper pronunciation of "Schroth" anyway? Is it "Sh" or "Sk"? Does it rhyme with sloth or sound like *******?

POST 6Original post

SH-ROW-TH Don't worry about cloth v. leather. If your *** is on fire, then you have other problems to deal with. Just have a nice camlock release on your harnesses and a FE mounted.

POST 7Original post

Smack the nomex is to meet race regs. If you are DE only forget about it and take the leather, nicer looking and more durable. In any case the cushions are velcro'd on and you can buy nomex ones if you need them. Best,
