Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

What is best alignment for ROW/M030 & Michelin Pilot Sport Cups (225/285)on Stock 18" rims. Can I go a bit more agressive on camber settings, say -1.5 Rear and -1.0 front and leave remaining settings as recommended? Or should other settings be adjusted accordingly? Will this dramatically affect tire wear? I do 2-3 DE's/year & autocross. Car is 02 Carrerra Coupe. thanks,

POST 3Original post

-1.0 up front will start to wear the insides of your tires. i use -0.8 on the street and -1.6 on the track. the camber settings in the table above are fine for the rear.

POST 4Original post

You really need ALOT more camber than that to run the MPSC effectively. The tire will perform much better in the -1.5 to -3.0 range. 1.5 is the MINIMUM rec'd setting. You really need more than that to get the best use of the tire.

POST 5Original post

(1) Your tires and factory settings are fast enough to run in the first 3 color / run groups in any DE across the country - without any mods at all. The driver is really the limitation, and not the car or the car's setup. In fact, you could run on lower quality street tires and still be pretty fast (if you have good lines). (2) If you use your car as a DD, then you should stay close to factory specs on the alignment. You're going to ruin your MPSC tires with lots of camber / toe just for a few laps a year. (3) If you are interested in gettng faster DE "times" you might consider a seat and harness bar... (4) If you are serious about the track, just pull a Dell and get a GT3 [goooo Dell!] -td

POST 6Original post

TD, definitely the moment I checked into the Porsche Phunny Pharm In all seriousness though for the OP. What exactly do you want to do with your car? If you are only doing 2-3 events a year I would NOT get MPSC tires nor would I have anything other than the RoWM030 PAG rec'd settings. 2-3 events a year is not going to get your seat time expereince in a place that warrants running the MPSC's. I ran on street tires for several years while I learned the car and was FASTER than all the guys on MPSC's that didn't have nearly the experience I had on street tires! It's all in the driver. When my CAB starting turning into a damn near dedicated track car, I sold off the Teq Rollbar, the harnesses, the GT3 euro seats and track wheels and pads and then just bought the GT3. Now I can get as agressive as I want wrt suspension settings, tires, etc..

Oh, and in case the OP didn't know, Dell ran with the ROW M030 suspension on his Cab, so he speaks only the P-Car gospel, lol -td
