Suggestion

the only down side is that i feel the need to use the cleaner to make it look real clear and nice, and that any length of time uncleaned gives it a slightly duller look.

i tried the polish kit on a scuff, pretty deep that ran a good inch and it came out looking pretty darn good after using sand paper first.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

10 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hey guys, any way to fix my somewhat faded/yellowed headlights? They aren't that bad, but I am pretty ****. They are already the clear ones, so I hate to shell out big $$ for new units. Any ideas? TIA -t

POST 2Original post

what year is the car? if you do decide to chuck the lights, if they're 2002+ style, i'll buy em

POST 4Original post

I don't mean to be cavalier with your money, but I really think that the Litronic kit for pre-facelift cars is pretty good value. When I bought my car, it had the OEM lights, and they were pretty badly burnt in (daytime running lights here in Canada). I had the Litronic kit put on, and it totally refreshed the look of the car, besides being a better set of lights. Certainly understand if you don't like the price, but it's worth considering. Good luck!

POST 5Original post

i think you bought a car that was raced in the ALMS division and so they were required to "yellow" the lights!

POST 6Original post

This will sound nuts, but I took my old Lexus to a detail shop to get it cleaned up for sale a while back. I asked the guy who I have known for years, "can you do anything about the yellowing headlights?" He said, "I don't know, but I will try." He said they rubbed them with polishing compound and then wax and they came out like new. Give it a shot.

POST 7Original post

If you're going to by new headlights, upgrade to the Litronics. Well worth the money.

or try this http://www.janvil.com/ i tried the polish kit on a scuff, pretty deep that ran a good inch and it came out looking pretty darn good after using sand paper first. the only down side is that i feel the need to use the cleaner to make it look real clear and nice, and that any length of time uncleaned gives it a slightly duller look. not rreally noticeable but i am aware of it. it could also be that im **** about this so i see it. i guess i should ask a third party to tell me if he can see anything wrong. i'll have to try that. all in all, i was happy that i got the scuff/gash out, which was clearly and noticeably visible.

POST 10 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I went and looked all over for this stuff locally. No luck. . . guess I will have to order it online.
