Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

13 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

This Sunday, May 6 the Annual Spring Meet, Drive & Dine will be held in Rockville... I've mapped out a route hopefully as challenging as the December tour route... This tour will end at the famous Roy's Place in Gaithersburg... http://www.roysplacerestaurant.com/ Here are the details: Meeting Place: STARBUCKS Mid-Pike Plaza 11802 Rockville Pike Rockville MD, 20852 Between Montrose Road and Old Georgetown Road Gathering Time: 9:30-11:00am Departing Time: 11:00am Approximate Tour Time: 90 minutes "We're all aware of the incident at Virginia Tech. It has affected everyone including people within our own Porsche community. Our hearts go out to those affected. To honor Virginia Tech and its continued school pride, we are dedicating the May 6th, 2007 Porsche Drive to the "Hokies" as a sign of solidarity and remembrance. Our goal is to demonstrate that a single act of malice can not break our spirit but rather bond us as one. We ask event participants to wear Virginia Tech colors (Maroon & Orange) or to show any creative display of VA Tech support. In Virginia Techs name we ride." "For those wanting to contribute more than their heart, money can be donated to the "Hokie Spirit Memorial Fund" sponsored by VA Tech at the URL below." http://www.vt.edu/tragedy/memorial_fund.php I'd like to thank Kevin "PORSCHE_DRIVING_CLUB" for the "Hokie" Inspriration... His thoughtfulness and contributions are greatly appreciated... Let's show our support and make "The Hokie Inspiration Drive" an event to remember...

POST 2Original post

Sounds great. Nice touch with the Virginia Tech dedication. The wife and I are going to tag along for the drive, but most likely skip out before the dine. We'll see how it goes though. Thanks for setting this up!!

POST 4Original post

Grant911, are you from the Philadelphia area? I'm in New Jersey and I'm thinking about going, but it's a long drive for a 90 minute fun run.

POST 5Original post

I'm definitely going. I went last year, and I think I drove between an hour and a half to two hours to get there. I'm either dedicated or really crazy. I'm outside of Philly in a little town called Honey Brook deep in Amish country.

POST 6 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

The weather is supposed to be beautiful - Sunny & 72... It looks as if we will have a large turnout... So far it looks as if we may approach 100 cars... If you have a FRS or GMRS handheld radio please bring it with you... During the tour we will tune to channel 7, subchannel 21 ... The radios have about an 18 mile range... I will have a radio at the head of the column and the caboose will have a radio... REMEMBER: Maroon & Orange are the colors of the day! Let's show our support for VT...

POST 9Original post

I just got finished making myself and my wife kickass shirts. You'll see what I mean. I can't wait to meet you all!!

POST 10 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Beautiful Day as promised... Remember that maroon and orange are the colors of the day in honor of Virginia Tech... Looking forward to seeing everyone this morning... We should have an outstanding turnout...

POST 11 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks to everyone for making this such a successful event... Just shy of 100 cars showed and 45 cars went on the drive to Roy's Place... After lunch I took a spirited group that hadn't had enough on 1/2 the "Scenic Maryland Civil War Trail/Covered Bridge Tour".... We put a total of 138 miles on for the day... You could not have asked for better weather... Pictures are posted on the 993 Forum at this link: https://rennlist.com/forums/993-forum/349947-fantastic-spring-meet-drive-dine.html Again, I'd like to thank all that brought their cars to this event... It was great to see old friends and meet new ones... There were some beautiful cars... See you at the next event... I've been asked to put one on in May... I'll keep everyone posted...

POST 12Original post

Is there a write-up of the route someplace? Thanks, Bill

POST 13Original post

Report on the May 6th Event in Rockville, Maryland: I went to the event in Rockville yesterday...a pretty long distance to drive from New Jersey for "just a fun run" I thought. But the weather promised to be perfect, and so it beckoned me. And in fact, the weather was the proverbial top down/sunroof open/windows down weather that we all long for. About one hundred cars showed up, and as I learned while I was there, the first part of the event was more like a car show from 9:30 to 11:00 (I especially drooled over a metallic gray Ferrari 308!). At 11:10, about 45 cars departed for the run. Almost all were Porsches, but there were about 5 Minis and 2 Mercedes that I could see. I had worried that such a large group would be hard to keep together, and that the pace would be slow. Hah! The pace was fast right out of the gate, and was fast throughout the event. The roads were challenging and the scenery was beautiful - farms, countryside, woods, estate homes, etc. In fact, the event was a blast! A great driving experience with very nice people. Was it worth driving so far for "just a fun run" (a ninety minute one, at that)?? Absolutely! So, here's what you can do if you missed the event and/or if you'd like to attend the next one. There's going to be another similar event on May 20th, done by the same organizer (bless his heart!). Here's the link: https://rennlist.com/forums/show...ad.php?t=350110 Am I going?
