Read evidence and context
Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Suspected cause
it's a nice color but the problem is matching it to an exterior....maybe white

Get the car cheap and start replacing trim pieces with black ones slowly over time.

Looks like someone took a photo, then ran the film through the Xray machine at the airport (for you youngsters, cameras used to use film that had to be deveolped using chemicals)!

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I was considering buying a Silver one with nephrite interior. The plan was to buy cheao and change the interior....the damned green colour was everywhere....In the end, I thought it wasn't worth the hassle!
Jesus H Christ that is ugly! Looks like someone took a photo, then ran the film through the Xray machine at the airport (for you youngsters, cameras used to use film that had to be deveolped using chemicals)!
"It took the skins of 1,000 frogs to create this green wonderland of an interior - at Porsch-uh, no interior color is too ugly...."
Think of how GREEN you will look sitting in the damned thing! Talk about being so money!
No way. This was a custom interior, right?
I mean, nobody from Porsche actually sat down and decided this was a rational option to make available to their customers? Right?
On a similar ugly vein......
No. Sadly, I've seen that hideousness in person ... ug. BTW, did anyone else look at the coolant temp gauge? Scary. Also, the mileage is interesting. Looks like someone put over 9k miles on it in the first two months? WTF? Oh, and it has hit 25k without the reserve being met ...
I noticed the same thing about the mileage--someone drove the heck out of it the first month (then nausea kicked in).
You're right--the temp. on the car sure seems high. Mine never runs that hot, even on a track day, and even if the ambient temp. is 87 F, like it is in that pic. A good PPI will be mandatory on that car.
Not that I'm contemplating doing it, but I'm curious - has anyone tried doing
a complete dye or replacement job on an interior? How difficult/expensive
would it be to change something like this to black, for instance?

Why is the passenger seat more heavily worn than the driver's?
There was a similar vehicle at a local used car dealer here. White 996 cab with green leather and wood trim (yes, try picturing that...). I recall it was $6K below a similar mileage "normal" colored cab.
I don't know if they ever sold the car or auctioned it off. I've never seen it since. I remember it, because the sales person suggested that if I was interested, I could buy it for a substantial savings.
Dying the leather is expensive and it's going to come off eventually. Get the car cheap and start replacing trim pieces with black ones slowly over time. It probably won't look real bad as a two-tone black and green. ... or not.
You have to wonder why the dealership or salesman taking the order didn't intercede on that one. To each his own, but I'd never "own" that one. That's going to be a major detractor for any potential buyers....
I kind of like it..
....in someone elses car
!!!!! Green supposed to be a relaxing color...but I don't know if this is before or after you puked your guts out!!
I wonder if the 'order' wasn't placed by a g.m. that knew he was on the way out as a parting 'gift' for the dealership...
I've seen the results of that at a BMW dealer with an e46 M3 that they were practically giving away.
I saw a '99 aero coupe a few years ago that I believe was paint to sample "Rain Forest Green" a dark metallic green with this color interior. It had Sports seats with painted backs and console. The interior looked more dark green than the blue-green in these picks. It had a very rich and unique look. I think most would have agreed and liked the look, but possibly not for their car.
Beyond black, Porsche's leather colors are, IMO, too *fresh*. Green can be very attractive. If anyone here is familiar with the green leather in a MG, you understand.
