Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

13 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

is this part of the rear seats an option? Mine don't have it, just carpet in that area.

POST 2Original post

Haha, you took the photo from the Nephrite Green car and made it black and white. These parts are no option but easy to remove (hook-and-loop fastener). If you don't need your back seats, take them out to reduce weight. Especially the back-rests are pretty heavy.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I thought if I left it green the topic would change very quickly. Are you saying that that piece is standard? I was just in a dealer today and none the new 997s as well as the cpo 996s had that piece in place

POST 4Original post

I have never seen a 996 with those (consider that I've been 996 shopping with a friend)...but I've also never seen a 996 cab up close.

POST 5Original post

This is how I got my Cab and it's not an option. Maybe Coupes have different back seats.

POST 6Original post

I have always wondered this too, I have seen some cars with them and some without. So if its not an option, then which cars had these?

POST 8Original post

I've never seen those "add-ons" until now... Cool, rear lumbar options!

POST 9Original post

Those are probably standard on cabs....mine has them by the way.....

POST 10Original post

Wow, as much of a joke the rear seating space is, I am very glad my 1999 C4 has the full seat backs in the rear. I think that carpet lumbar rear seat version is really ugly, and looks uncomfortable too.

POST 11Original post

Standard on Cabs - they may not fit coupe rear seats because the seat backs are larger. But then I've never tried...

POST 12Original post

got them on my cab, until I took them out so I can put two booster seats in the back!

POST 13Original post

Cabs have 'em and coupes don't. I suspect they're needed in Cabs because of slightly higher seat back angle.
