Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

A few weeks later, after the car had been sitting long enough for it to go into "sleep" mode, when I started it up and tried to use the sound system, I got an error that said "System Error: Amplifier, CD Changer not avaliable." Although the PCM seemed to be working, there was no sound an it had lost the interface to the Dension unit (which I simply swapped for the CD changer that was previously installed).

I have let the car sit long enough for it to "sleep" since then, and it seems like the issue is somehow caused by that.

There was some indication in the other thead that changing the order of device on the MOST ring might also prevent this.

Hi, what about cycling the denison switch or getting a paper clip and hit the reset button on the Desion unit?

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I installed the Dension 500 a couple months ago.
After searching this forum, I found an old thread in the Cayenne forum about a similar issue. Apparently, this error can occur when the information system tries to re-connect with MOST components but is not able to for some reason. One possible solution is to "re-boot" the info system and let it re-discover the componts. After some trial and error, I found that I could do this by pulling fuse #6 in row E (this is in a 2004 C4S w/PCM & Bose).
I have let the car sit long enough for it to "sleep" since then, and it seems like the issue is somehow caused by that. Pulling the fuse as indicated seems to be a work-around. Of course, the real solution would seem to be to never let the car sit long enough for it to "sleep."
There was some indication in the other thead that changing the order of device on the MOST ring might also prevent this. I never had this error with the CD changer, but have it now with the Dension unit. It's pretty easy to work around now that I now which fuse to pull.
No, that doesn't have any effect. Although it's pretty hard to tell exactly what is going on, the Dension unit appears to be functioning properly and the info center unit or MOST ring appears to be doing something that is not quite right.
Since posting the intial message, I did have this happen again, and this time the car had not been sitting long enough for the car to go to "sleep" mode.
