In Florida you can change windshield once a year with no costs to you if you have full coverage.

I must say that's what I though until today. Hell I think Tool Pants has had 3 or 4 of these dang windshields replaced on one car
Driving for more than 14 years. I know it�s not that long, but I have never had and I mean never had a rock hit the windshield that caused a crack. I have had 5 low riding vehicles and many in-between types and as I was on the freeway; wait it�s highway out here on the left coast and out of the blue a Dang rock put a 5 inch crack in the windshield.
Called the insurance company and having Safelite replacing the glass on Friday. Insurance is taking care of the bill minus the deductible and they even set-up the appointment for me. I can�t wait to be able to see out of my windshield again
Only after reading all the threads about windshield being replaced it happens to me. I guess I will have a nail in my tire next.

Crazy? You call that video crazy??? I thought that was normal because I do that every morning when I start up my 996.

In the US deductibles for glass are regulated by the State... some states do not have a deductible, since the insurance commission tells the insurer to price it in the policy... unfortunately NC has a deductible. Safelite is ordering my OEM windshield and hopefully it will be replaced in the next week or so.
So how long does it take to order glass? Does Safelite not carry the glass in inventory? I had the insurance company setup the app for me and noted that there was only one type of glass that they use to install.
I made my app on Monday and they are coming out Friday. Hope they come with the right glass
safelite came to my house on saturday to repair the little crack... turned into a big one, s they had to order the windshield. told me it will take a week before they get it. as soon as they have it they will contact me and come by the house to replace it.
I have "negotiated" with glass companies....not for the Porsches....but for my Dodge pickup that took a rock in the windshield. I asked them if they could "waive the deductible"....which meant that they buried the price of the deductible somewhere in the transaction....but after all they years of paying insurance on four cars, I didn't lose any sleep over it. It also depends upon what your deductible is. It's a bit difficult to bury a $500 deductible. Some of the policies have a lower deductible for comprehensive, which is where the windshields fall. Some windshield companies will do it...some won't. I don't know about Porsche windshields or whether the glass company would work with you on it, but then again, if you don't ask you'll never know.

So I've got a new original windshield for a 100$.
BTW I had crack in the windshield smaller than a finger nail.
