Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

25 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi Guys, I just called Greg at RSS and ordered my new plenum. Thanks again to Eric for the Dyno results. I asked about a group buy price. JW had previously provided me with his name and number (thanks JW). He gave me a limited time preferred Rennlist member price of $850 for my 99 non-egas 996. He authorized me to post this information. His number is [phone removed]. He was a pleasure to deal with. I am looking forward to posting before and after 0-60 and 1/4 mile times with my G-tech.

POST 2Original post

Please do a timed 50-70 mph in fourth gear roll-on, too. And, if you can manage it, a 70-90 mph roll-on in fourth gear would be awesome. Of course, beware coppers.

POST 3Original post

Mark, What are your times according to the G-Tech with the current mods you have? TIA, - Cam

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Cam, It has been a couple of months...but I believe my 0-60 was 5.4 and 1/4 mile was 13.5. That was with a passenger and with the first generation EVO CAI that was causing problems. I will have to get new "before" times with my new EVO CAI and no passenger. My car is at the body shop till Friday getting a rock chip repaired. Maybe this weekend I can get new "before" times. My car is a tiptronic so my times are slower then a 6-speed, but they are very consistent.

POST 5Original post

Mark, I'm also ordering one from Greg too, I think there will be a batch ready sometime next week. Also to confirm thats the price that I was quoted too.

POST 6Original post

if we can get 10 together..... can we get a GB GB price?

POST 9Original post

This plenum thing raises a lot of dust and emotions! Ericdee should get a full refund from RSS or even a provision, just for the advertising he made for them. The dyno result looks impressive and I'm further surprised that Ray S seams to be interested. If now even Dell "approves" the mod, then it becomes a no brainer.

POST 11Original post

Im sure there will be alot of closet plennum mods here...

POST 12Original post

I'm interested, but I'm not sure I've got a grand just burning a hole to be spent. I think it is worth a try for $500.00 but I'm undecided on $1,000.

POST 13 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Ray, If you hurry...$850 isn't too bad for 28 extra ponies.

POST 14Original post

What were the problems with the first model EVO CAI?

POST 15Original post

Just ordered mine and Ill be at their shop on Thrusday May 3rd at 9am to get it installed

POST 16Original post

How hard is it to do the install as a DIY?? Anyone got pictures? I'm interested at $850.....

POST 17Original post

Here's a shot to give you an idea of what you're in for. Takes about an hour to install. Just make sure everything is sitting right. You don't want a vacuum leak, that will set off a check engine light.

POST 18 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Eric, I see you still have the stock airbox. I highly recommend the EVO CAI. The sound is fantastic. Thanks again for being the first to step up and do this mod...your dyno results are hard to argue with. I can't wait to get mine!

POST 20Original post

Mark: When you get the plenum....let's get together. I'll call my buddy who has the dyno and see if I can talk him into doing a before/after. If we can post the results for the NA cars, it will serve to put some of the yea/nay to rest. Who knows, if all goes well we might even see Dell lining up for one. I'm with Dell though....I'm going to wait and see how yours does. I just bought a set of headers for the 930 today so I'm tapped out for the moment. How about we get together Friday for a photo shoot?

POST 21 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Chuck, I sent you an e-mail. I'll be surprised if it's back from the body shop before the end of Friday. Let's shoot for Monday or Tuesday if you don't mind. I sold my 17s to finance the plenum...sell those extra wheels!

POST 22Original post

Hmmmm....that's right...I do have a brand new set of Dunlop 9000's on brand new 18 inch turbo twists sitting in boxes in the garage.....hmmmmm.....forgot about those. That would finance the plenum wouldn't it.

POST 24Original post

Why don't you guys ask Greg directly when the window closes? His number is posted... Otherwise it's [phone removed]

POST 25 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Greg didn't give me an exact day. He did give me the impression it would be soon (within the next week or so).
