I never tried to balance oversteer/understeer by changing the damping settings of the PSS9s.

Are sway bar changes necessary with the PSS9 to make it work as intended for street use?

I can comment on running PSS9s and stock sways - this is my setup.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I want to upgrade my stock suspension.
Are sway bar changes necessary with the PSS9 to make it work as intended for street use? I want to reduce pushing and lower the car and allow me to hit the turns more aggressively. I roadraced motorcycles for years and don't plan to track my car.
I realize X74 has sway bars but no adjustability for height or dampening. I'd like some recommendations for my '99 Cab. I will do the install myself and would like to spend around $2k max.
TIA
Nick
2k for just sways? Thats a nice budget..you have a c2, you can go with gt3 bars or H&R's with TRG droplinks. Sways had a bigger impact on cornering than my Pss9's
go with h&r im actully going to start a group by with screameleons and already talked to vividracing about it. there just like the pss9, adjusable everthing, its just that they will cost (if all goes well with the group buy) around 1500 hundred. Originally they are $1800 so i think $1500 won't be to much of a stretch because if you remeber we did a group buy for the pss9 and we could only get it down to $1900. o and i just read that you want sway bars well if you go with the h&r you'll have enough to get the sways also, thats what im doing and i also have just a 2000$ budget for it.
I can comment on running PSS9s and stock sways - this is my setup. When my car was 100% stock it pushed like a pig and the front tires wore out faster than the rear. I went with PSS9s and had the car aligned at -1deg camber on the front corners. I also went with wider front tires (225s up from 205s) and left the rears the same (255s). This biased the the car much more to oversteer and the rears now wear faster than the fronts. The trade off is twitchiness and tramlining in the steering. I never tried to balance oversteer/understeer by changing the damping settings of the PSS9s. I leave all 4 corners at 9 (full firm) all the time. The roads are pretty good here and I love how responsive the car feels.
I thought lower numbers = firmer on the pss9's(?). Isn't 9 the softest setting?
Anyway, I've been curious about the ride quality/performance of the X74 vs pss9. Has anyone driven both on the same vehicle that can comment on comfort and daily driver feel? I know both will perform very well, but I want it for a daily driver on varying road quality.
9 is not the firmest... 1 is the firmest!
Im not getting the $1500-$1800 prices... does these come with the install? H&R sways are like $650 at tire rack and drop links are like $500 (good ones at that). you can use the rear stock drop links and pss9 provise the front drop links (it came with mine anyways).. a group buy for 1500 is a rip off!
I just installed the x74 myself and I am very pleased. Please see my post here for more details:
