Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Suggestion

Im not sure about the exact material/makeup of that piece, but I would think you could use almost any type of foam insulating material(like used on water pipes - also maybe sound type insulation, but youd have to check the heat resistance) covered with a foil type tape (like used in hvac applications) on the outside.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

12 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Had a shop replace my AOS and lines, but they seemed to have tossed the protective sheathing that goes around the lines from the aos to front of the engine (or towards back of the car). Has anyone found this part or have a good aftermarket solution they like?

POST 2Original post

Im not sure about the exact material/makeup of that piece, but I would think you could use almost any type of foam insulating material(like used on water pipes - also maybe sound type insulation, but youd have to check the heat resistance) covered with a foil type tape (like used in hvac applications) on the outside. Good luck, & let us know what you settle on.

Got it. Makes sense. Found these and am gonna give them a try. https://www.designengineering.com/he...ud-2-2-5-x-36/

POST 4Original post

They look like they should work fine, and give you a factory look. A little pricey but probably worth it to keep things tidy and not DIY looking

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

That was my thinking. Plus apparently can cut to size. Ha, yeah a bit pricey but at this point Im so deep into the red whats another $50 🥴

I used something similar from Amazon for this exact purpose, but went with black color.

POST 9Original post

I used something similar. Black with velco. With the velco, I needed to get the correct widths for the two locations. I think the widths were 6" and 4". I have some running around to do but I'll pull out my leftovers later and measure. Perhaps I'll see a company label too.

Very helpful. Thanks

POST 11Original post

Found the scraps. 5" & 6" wide. No clue on them as to where I got them but the velcro & material has held up very well.
