The badge should come laid out on sticky plastic, dont remove it from the plastic, use the guides on the plastic as aid in centering...use measuring tape to figure out the centers.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

23 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I want to put the insignia back on the backside above the red reflector. Do you guys have official measurements and tips on how to place this sucker on as if from factory? I don't want to eyeball it. My insignia placement hand-eye coordination is lacking. Best, Ben

POST 2Original post

not a good example, but center the "C" between the wing and red refector, and center the badge left to right of the deck lid. The badge should come laid out on sticky plastic, dont remove it from the plastic, use the guides on the plastic as aid in centering...use measuring tape to figure out the centers. Note, the Carrera4s is slanting slighty

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Is that slant as the factory did it or is that one someone put on themself? Doesn't look right even if factory placement.

POST 4Original post

Mine's on straight. Get Bumperplugs.com to paint you up a red "S"

POST 5Original post

i have tried to pick up some copy cat red "s" on Ebay but they are never the same. never thought of going to Eric - was that a core exchange? looks good - nice small change.

POST 6Original post

pongobazzz - what about getting Eric to paint your bumperettes?

POST 8Original post

Previous owner had it done but I believe Eric can source it and paint it for you...I'll look up the invoice in my files and PM you the details. RE: bumperettes- I've been thinking about getting them painted too, but the way some people park by feel in TO makes me wonder if I shouldn't leave them black rubber for protection. Ideally, deleting them completely like the euro version would be the cleaner look for me...but with even less idiot-proof protection though.

POST 9 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

pongo and cpa, can you guys do me a favor (or anyone else with a virgin rear insignia) get me some measurements i can work with? the c4s i'm picking up tomorrow's got the misha GT2 wing so the up down measurement is useless, but the side to side would help. as for the red S, it's cool since it matches all that red below it, but i'm just going to keep mine as blended in as possible. call me mr. boring. thx, though. i appreciate your help.

POST 11Original post

I'm also thinking of replacing mine but I'm confused. If you can measure the width of the surface between the tail lights (call it L1), and if you can measure the length of the badge to be applied to that surface (L2), isn't it a simple matter to subtract L2 from L1, and then divide your answer by two in order to calculate how much distance to leave on either side of the badge?

POST 12Original post

here you go: note that the arrows are placed where I took the measurements; furthest outside edge of "C", bottom outside curve of "S" and bottom of "R". These are applied by hand at the factory, so some discrepancies are to be expected.

POST 13 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

pongo dongo, perfecto!!! Awesome and I hope this thread helps future owners who have a need to put the insigina back on. flash80, you got it! He's been a great to work with and the car checked out beautifully. you and i are coming from similar cars... i had an '04 M3 with LMs slammed on TC Klines... and going to the '02 c4s slammed on PSS9s. i have a set of OZ3s ready to put on. post of pic of your ride, bud. how u liking it?

POST 14Original post

arent all 02-04s standard with the painted bumperettes?

POST 17Original post

Yup, that's pretty much my story too! The new ride has been awesome. It was raining here in Socal, coudn't even tell with the AWD. The car is absolutely glued to the pavement. I'll post some pics soon, the only ones I have are from the dealer I bought it from. I've gotta wash her before taking any pics of my own. Again, congrats on the new car, you'll love it. I wasn't feeling the chrome HREs that were on the car, but it sounds like you've got that covered already! Those pics have me tempted to get a GT2 wing.

POST 18Original post

I have the same car. I like yours without the badging better. FYI, I removed the script before on a black car and you could still read it from the paint residue. Again, I like it without the letters and that wing. Spend your money on a radar detector! your going to need it! Steve

POST 19Original post

Here are a few more dimensions on the badge placement, including the spacing between the script and the 4.

POST 20Original post

Nicely done - thanks for taking the time to prepare that layout. You've performed a generous service for the original poster.

POST 21Original post

Thanks... I get alot out of the site and the members here, glad to give back when I can.

POST 23 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

su20 awesome, awesome. if i had that pic i wouldn't have posted this thread in the first place. thx to everyone's help here, i think i got it on there to my satisfaction. i absolutely love the rear end with the badge on it. i'm not shy about telling the general public that it is a C4S with a GT2-esque wing. widebodies can pull it off. thx, again!
