Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Make sure to get an alignment now the car is lowered, I'm sure you toe and camber are off since you changed the geometry.

I also feel no change in alignment as I did not disturb any adjusting points.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I plan to lower the 99 C2 with some H&R's soon I was wondering how many different levels they make is there a race drop and another one or only the race drop.
Also is it neccesary to change the struts right away or are the stock ones sufficient for this drop.
Thanks in advance
Tom
The shocks are designed to work in the middle of their travel. When lowering the car the shocks are working out of their intended parameters so, If doing the job correctly and if you want the car to handle and feel right. Change the shocks too.

how many miles are on your car right now? typically, it would be best to change out the shocks as well... the stock ones are not designed to handle the drop of the H&R.........
I just put the H&R springs on this weekend and it only lowered the car 1 inch instead of the 1.25 that they claim it will lower it. I am pleased with the stance though. I am using the stock struts and feel no adverse affects. The car rides smooth and not harsh on bumps. If I did not know it I would not know it had lower springs (my wife has not noticed yet). It does feel firmer when pushed in the corners though. The part number I have installed is 29513. I am very pleased with the springs for the price. If I had an unlimited budget sure I would go with new struts valved for these springs or a coil over setup, but for little money I got the looks I prefer and no ill handleing effects.
I also feel no change in alignment as I did not disturb any adjusting points. Check out their site for more info as I only know of the ones I installed.

carbonfiber: wait some time as the car will settle down. I've not measured it but I believe that the 0.25 inch come over time. I've since 6 months H&R springs with stock shocks and love it. The look improves and the floating front end due to the high stock springs is gone. The ride gets more harsh but imo that's what a Porsche is meant for after all it's a sports car. I had 32k miles on the car/shocks when I installed the springs, so my mechanic said that I'll be fine with the stock shocks; maybe less long than with stock springs - who knows.
carbonfiber, how much did you pay for your springs?
I checked your link and a set for the 996 C4S was $499.
The same springs on Automotion.com cost $329.95
Anyone knows what the catch is??
And the estimated drop for a C4S is only 1"
As many on this forum have said, shocks and springs are designed to work together. If you install shorter springs and don't replace the shocks, it can cause the shocks to wear more quickly. This is because the shorter springs may cause you to hit the bump stops more frequently, which gets the shocks out of the "normal" operating range more often. As the shocks get worn, the car may start to bounce a little more (like some of the "boy racer" cars we have all seen on the road). While this effect is not immediate, it will occur eventually.
Try the tire rack

for a good price on the springs. The car will get lower with time once the springs settle. Your shocks may work now, but are likely to wear out fast working outside of there normal range, check them occasionally for leaks. Make sure to get an alignment now the car is lowered, I'm sure you toe and camber are off since you changed the geometry. The money spent on an alignment will surely be made up in better tire wear.

I have the Eibach springs installed which lowered about 1.5''. Camber was set all the way but was getting bad inside tire ware. Installed Agency Power Rear Adj. Control Arms to have full control of rear camber. Also reset the front camber. Car is stiff but not like my S2000. Front comes up when red line.

Thanks guys so much for the response Its helped a load. Ive come to the decision PSS9's all the way. Im liking those control arms too Im def in for a set of those and they will pay for them selves as soon as the tire wear slows down. Thanks again
