Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

3 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi, Has anyone converted 996TT brakes on a C2 ? How much work will it involved ? Thanks.

POST 2Original post

It's a no-go because the spacing on the TT front calipers is different than the C2. You will have to change out the wheel carriers and a whole lot of other stuff. IIRC, the "other stuff" was about USD $2K not including the brakes or the labor.

POST 3Original post

correct...you have to get new hubs and carriers and misc parts....It was about 3k new in parts, not including labor or rotors and calipers....also, yo uwont gain that much in stopping power...but you will gain unpsrung weight which will affect acceleration, turning and braking. So what most people do is if you want more stopping power, change pad compounds and use a different brake fluid. The pad compound will help with faster braking and teh brake fluid will help to keep the pedal from fading due to heat buildup in the fluid. Or, you can get a Brembo or Stoptech big brake kit that will be low weight, larger diameter, and bolt directly on. Again, you wont get that much increased stopping power, just if you are tracking alot, you will dissipate heat better so no brake fade over long periods of dhard driving.
