Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Reported fix
I scraped my front valence when I first got the car fronting up my curb and driveway which are on a slight incline (of course had it replaced the first week). I found that by backing the car up the driveway, and (obviously) fronting it out solved the problem - clearance is fine for me when I enter or exit on an angle.
Leading evidence: 'Replace first week)' (1 discussions report resolution; 0 report an unsuccessful attempt). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Replace first week)' (1 discussions). For that action, 1 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. The most frequently reported fix is 'Replace first week)', supported by resolution reports in 1 discussions. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.
Source reports, not a diagnosis or a success probability. Counts refer to discussions and can overlap.
These are separate views of the same evidence. Frequency alone does not establish a fix, and these counts must not be added together.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hey guys. I've been a long time lurker on this and the Pelican site. And by long time I mean many many years - back to when I only had a couple bucks in my pocket but knew someday I would have to get one.
I've been looking for a 996 C4S for several months, but in reality I've been looking for my Porsche since I was 15 and had a poster of a red 930 on my wall.
This board, and others, have been a tremdous resource.
Well, I found the car I want. I was very particular about the details, but I think this is the car I imagined - seal grey, black, pse, and very little else.
I plan to fly to CT tomorrow to pick it up and drive back to Washington, DC same day.
Pictures will have to wait till I make it home. I've got the mapquest and I'm actually very much looking forward to the 6 plus hour drive.
Thanks for all the help - even though you never knew I guess.
Looking forward to your confirmation of purchase, accompanied by the requisit pics of the I95 road grimed car and then ones after you've cleaned it! Cheers and smart move becoming a member before you got flamed for it....

Congrats and welcome! We need year/options/pics -- of course, pics!! Did you buy privately or from a dealer? Drive safely, and OMG, I can't believe you'll be taking it for your first drive on I95 in the rain tomorrow! You're a better man than I am. Tim, don't say anything.
Congratulations! The drive will be a great experience, and I'm sure a fond memory. I really wanted to drive my last P-car back, but it was in South Florida, and snowing where I was in Michigan, not a good combo for a C2 Cab. Good Luck and enjoy the ride.
Thank you for behaving well. FWIW, I took my car out today for a drive - starting to drive it significantly harder now that it's [nearly] broken in! Damn, the 4S is really a wonderful car!
So I guess that means you have only 49 miles until your car is "officially" broken-in?
BTW - I have completed the "break-in" process 18 times already (36,000 miles) on my '04 C2.
Hey Dan, I'm a newbie and just picked up my 2001 C4. The drive home was about three hours. I lookied forward to it so much I could barely sleep the night before. After I got home, I had something light to eat and took it back out for 2 more hours! I can totally imagine how you feel.
My wife just let me know that I had to take her down to her consulate, 6 hours round trip on Thursday. I nearly jumped for joy.
You are going to have an absolutely great day!
Enjoy,
Louis
Tim, 44 to go, actually. But I figured what the hell, and revved it all the way to 5500 RPM! Gee, in less than 50 miles, I can really see what the car can do!

Thanks for all the well wishes. It was a long drive, wet drive, but great fun.
I took it easy under the weather conditions and being new to the car. The PSE wails though and I love it.
One major issue - unrelated to the car - arose. When I finally reached home and tried to drive into my waiting garage the issue I hoped would not come up, did.
I have a slight incline from the flat sidewalk up to the flat garage floor. And, you guessed it, before the front wheels could reach the incline the nose started to bottom out. I was being very very cautious so I backed it out wihtout any damage.
Any thoughts? Was thinking two 2 x 10s that start on the flat and lead halfway up the incline. Realistically I really would just like access to the garage for some winter months and during times I'm out of town - so I won't do a bunch of up and down.
What about the rear coming out? The overhang is much less pronounced but???
Stupid question maybe - tires need replacing. Could I consider a higher profile tire to gain an inch?
Again, this is an 03 C4S. Thanks for all your help. More pics once I get her cleaned up.

I found that by backing the car up the driveway, and (obviously) fronting it out solved the problem - clearance is fine for me when I enter or exit on an angle. Clearly, whether this works depends on the slope of your driveway. Have someone observe when you do this to find the best technique to get your car in and out without damage.
Good luck!!
