I'm picking up my first Porsche tomorrow: a '99 996 Cabrio (below) - and wanted to get some info, in the event i have rim problems (which is expected because I'll be doing a decent amount of NYC/North NJ driving unfortunately), on where I can get replacement after-market rims to match the existing stock rims. Any input is appreciated. Thanks.

Honestly I'm trying to avoid paying stock prices... seems like they have some replica's there for about $300-400 per rim though, are they worth getting?

Try going to a P-car dealership. Let me explain first before you say I'm crazy. Many times the dealership removes the stock wheels and tires and some their newer cars and put after market types. They end up selling these stock wheels and tires at a good price. Just a suggestion. Good luck in your driving adventures around the city. I know what you are refering to. I have driven in NYC and NJ and the streets there are horrible.

if you're just using your ride for run around the town driving....... i wold stick with replicas... much cheaper and they're going to bend like the others....now if you like to have nice ones for those occasion, i would pick up some 19's OEM.........

I have some nice 17 inch chrome wheels that are identical to yours. They came on my 99 996. I upgraded to 18 inch polished turbo twists. They are in good condition and I would happily sell you the set for $500 plus shipping. They include chrome center caps and lug bolts. They have Kuhmo tires on them. The rear tires are shot. The fronts have over 60% left. Here is a picture of them on my car. They were made in Italy.
