Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

33 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

  • Rennlist: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi All - I'm new here and to Porsche. I'm just about to pull the trigger on a mint '04 C4S coupe with 15k miles. The car is Arctic over Metropole Blue and has Bose, Supple and Techno Wheels (no PSE, however...bummer...I'll be asking for aftermarket recommenations from you all). Deal is $61k with CPO running to 9/09 (still 6 mos on factory warranty). Car was driven by nice lady in her late 50s, was serviced by dealership I'd be buying from. I have all the records and have reviewed the CPO worksheet and repair order (15k service done, 4 new Michelins, Brake Fluid Flush). Thoughts?? Thanks.

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks, I know you're right in the middle of selling your '02 and I took a good look at it. Since, I'm new to Porsche getting a longer CPO is valuable to me, so I went with a newer model year.

POST 5Original post

Go for it C4S is the best looking 996. Love them. If its CPO though and its a 04 it should be running out for you in 2010 right....4 year Factory and CPO is 2 year 100k miles. I got a 03 CPO bought last year first service date Aug 03 so Aug of this year 07 4 years Factory is up then I get til Aug of 09 til CPO runs out. Might wanna check that but go for it anyways

POST 6 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Good point, Cabova. The in-service date was September '03, so warranty runs out in '07. then, add on the two years of CPO coverage. I'm guessing this was an early '04??

POST 10Original post

That's a definite buy! The CPO seals the deal.

POST 11 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks, guys!! I did the deal...I'm writing from my phone right now, so I'll keep this short. It's a stick (of course) I'm thrilled to be getting my first Pcar. I'll post some pictures soon

POST 13Original post

We were just kidding. You shouldn't have bought it. j/k Congrats!!

POST 14Original post

Congrats on getting the C4S and Welcome to Rennlist. PICS??? did someone say Pics???? Yes, we WILL need to see some pics! If not, you and I will have to have a "little talk" about pics! Hey guys, even that little but of Newbie bashing felt good! Sure beats kicking the dog!

POST 15Original post

LOL Gota911. I got this image in my head of you, in some dungeon that you haven't left in years, all dirty and dusty, you weight about 78Lbs and you're chained to a computer. Everytime a person gets a new P, someone comes in and whips you and says, TELL 'EM TO GET US PICS!!!! Sorry, it may just be my wierd sense-of-humor. :P Congrats on a truly SWEEET RIDE!!

POST 16 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks, guys! I'll take some real pix when the car arrives (10-14 days). I have a link to the dealer pix but am not allowed to post it due to my low post count. Let me guess...I should subscribe to Rennlist and this issue will "automagically" disapper??

POST 17Original post

How did you know??? I thought I removed all of the dungeon pics off the internet!

POST 18Original post

Now THERE'S a novel idea... Post the link, dude.

POST 19Original post

'04 C4S's? Yeah, they're OK, I guess. Go for it! And post pics. Sounds like a great car. Phil

POST 20Original post

...from one '04 C4S owner to another, Congratulations SammyTown!!! warm regards from the SF Bay Area, - Jong p.s. PICS,PICS,PICS!!!

POST 21Original post

Sammy: You took a very short route to a very nice car. I started with a 924, then a 928S before my first 911, a 1991 C2. Since then I've had a 993 C4S, a 993 TT and I currently drive an 03 C4S. I did learn a little working my way through the Porsche line that you will miss jumping right into a practically new C4S. For instance, the direct injection Porsches will probably start at 380hp with 420hp X51 engines and 550hp turbos. So keep your next trade-in in mind when tinkering with your new car. I know it's not the time to be thinking of your next car, but a few dollars saved can make the difference of a year or two on your next Porsche.

POST 22 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hopefully the link will come through... here Should be to me in about two weeks. I'm elated.

POST 23 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

POST 25Original post

Beautiful C4S with 6speed, and the price sounds excellent. What's the mileage and full list of options??

POST 26Original post

I have those wheels....love them....make the car stand out among 996s....

POST 27Original post

Very nice car, I also love the C4S wide-body stand and of course those Techno wheels, awesome... Congratulation on your first new P-car!

POST 28Original post

Phil - I can guarantee the mileage is higher that 1,985.

POST 29Original post

SammyTown! I think I may have found my car's identical twin in your's!!! She's a looker! Congrats again! - Jong
