I don't think you need any bolts...you just have to replace the lights...they come with ballasts....maybe you need a different connector...but I don't think you do.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

9 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Join Date: Aug 2006 Posts: 3 xenon question i am about to pull the trigger on a low mileage c4s. perfect except no xenons. i can't figure out if it can done reasonably. Jeff at Sunset Porsche said that the 01 xenons will NOT go in. a orevious thread said with 40.00 bolts it will. can anyone clarify finally? thanks bob

POST 2Original post

what year is your pcar? the body style or the lights will work the following: early 98-01 will fit and the 02-04 will fit.... it won't fit the earlier 996 version and it won't fit the 997.

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

yes it is ArroGant's car. 2002 c4s. do i need the 40.00 bolts discussed in a previous thread, if so, less tha 20? (joke.) if anyone has done the conversion, can you give me an estimate of the time involved? the self level feature is not important to me since it's just me in the car at 160 lbs.

POST 6Original post

I seem to remember someone doing that awhile back and getting a light error on the dash.

POST 7Original post

I'm not sure I'd go around splicing electronics in a car like the Porsche. And it's probably for this reason most people don't do it and just buy a car with Litronics. Good luck. Having the Litronics definitely is a huge plus!

POST 8Original post

I don't think you need any bolts...you just have to replace the lights...they come with ballasts....maybe you need a different connector...but I don't think you do. I did a 99 to 02+ conversion and have xenons...with ballasts...I needed 2 wiring harnesses...but this because of the conversion. I would call or better got to the parts department at a Porsche shop and ask....there is almost always a fanatic (like us) there who knows everything about parts and numbers....ask them to pull up the schematics on the monitor.

POST 9 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

i would take light error to get the xenon beam. i won't go splicing for sure. the easier thing would be to find a xenon car, but i have confidance in gant's car, so i like to make a deal with him. maybe gerd?? thinki will email him.
