I would think that TC would monitor and adjust braking in conjunction with the limited slip differential.

while the PSM would do the same but also monitor and adjust throttle response.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

8 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

  • Rennlist: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

1 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

One thing I'm still not clear on, however, is whether there is ever any benefit to turning TC off.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I'm unsure of the difference between Traction Control and PSM. I would think that TC would monitor and adjust braking in conjunction with the limited slip differential. while the PSM would do the same but also monitor and adjust throttle response. Anyone with detail ? TIA

POST 2Original post

Search feature, what a concept!! https://rennlist.com/forums/showthre...&highlight=psm

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks but a simple referral to the link would have been sufficient.

POST 4Original post

Don't worry about 'Gant. He's a former submarine captain, and they tend to get a little light-headed at times!

Here's an article on PSM http://www.deter.com/porsche/PSM.txt

POST 7Original post

I know, but the search feature DOES come in handy.

POST 8 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Your right it does but sometimes when you do a search the result takes along time to sort through - a simple search for "Traction Control" in the 996 forum has pages of results and discussions to look through. Your referral got me right to the answer I was looking for - thus a web forum worked as it should - working together on a common interest. One thing I'm still not clear on, however, is whether there is ever any benefit to turning TC off. I don't think so but . . . while I understand why you may want to turn PSM off sometimes.
