I finally have all the parts to install my new flywheel and clutch. Because the transmission has been disconnected for so long there is a bit of rust plus the grime that was already inside. What are the best products to clean the rust and grime off before I reassemble?

I mainly use Oil Eater citrus spray most of the time since it's cheaper than P21S Auto Wash. Citrus spray works wonders on oil and grime.

I just did this job. I sprayed it down with simple green and clean up any grime. Wiped it with Ballistol https://ballistol.com/?gclid=EAIaIQo...SAAEgJy2vD_BwE Although you could use any light clean oil. WD40 would be fine. Yes there is a Simple Green made for aluminum. The standard Simple Green will make engine case grey.

Yep it's called Simple Green Aircraft formula. Fun fact: it's clear, and turns purple when it comes in contact with oil. Super handy. Available lotsa places online.
