I called my insurance company and they sent a windhield repair company out....they repaired it in 15 minutes in my garage....almost a year later....no probs....

Yes...dont think its repairable....PLUS if the replacement cost is not much more than the repair cost, I'd rather have a new windshield....I have seen them for $200 from a local wrecking yard. So if a repair is $100 I'd pay the extra $100. PLUS do you know how the repair works? They must drill into the chip, and inject silicone onto it. This process can actually crack your windshield in two. You must pay them first and they are not liable if it cracks. So I may be out$100 AND have to get a new windshield. I had it done successfully on my old car, but it was not as bad as this.

doesn't your insurrance cover one windshield a year? I think State Farm does.

maybe....I'll check. I try not to involve my insurance company for anything if possible...they look for excuses to raise rates.

same thing happen to me is about $40 for repair and is covered by my insurance with deductible waived.
