Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

The fluid has not been changed since I have had it (10K).
Leading evidence: 'Replace since i have had it (10k)' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Inspect brake components' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

Suggestion
My first suggestion woudl be at the very minimum to inspect all your brake components.

Suggestion
Corrosion in the brake system is the reason why Porsche and most other high end manufacturers specify changing the fluid every 2 years.

Drive around the neighborhood, and use the brakes.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I tried about 10 more times and it seemed to get a little better but still not back to normal and stops were real lengthy.
Last night I drove my 996 for the first time in a while, and it was about 15-20 degrees outside. I havent driven it other than around the corner in about a month or so. I was pretty concerned because the brakes were acting really strangely.
First, I would just tap them and there would be a quick jerk slow down but then after a few feet it felt like I was pushing and it wasnt doing any thing. as I pushed harder the pedal would not move any more and the brake pedal was not any where close to the floor. I tried about 10 more times and it seemed to get a little better but still not back to normal and stops were real lengthy.
Any ideas?
I have never heard of brake fluid freezing but depending on the age of your fluid you could have some serious air and water in your brake lines which could very easily lead to an absent brake pedal. My first suggestion woudl be at the very minimum to inspect all your brake components.
Hopefully somebody with more technical knowledge about brake fluid chimes in.
I seriously doubt that your brake fluid is frozen. It would take an awful lot of water, in a very cold climate to freeze brake fluid. I've had cans of it in storage at 20 deg or below for years. What could be happening is that something in your braking system is becoming stuck by corrosion caused by high moisture in the system and the inactivity of the car. I'd suggest driving it a bit, carefully to be certain that you have brakes. Drive around the neighborhood, and use the brakes. This should clear things up for now. But as soon as you take take the car out of hibernation, get the fluid changed. Corrosion in the brake system is the reason why Porsche and most other high end manufacturers specify changing the fluid every 2 years.
Cheers,
That is a good point. I am taking it in to replace the clutch so I will have them flush the brake fluid too. I dont want to end up buying a master cylinder. Thanks for the advice but more is alway welcome!
Hmmm....maybe the ABS acting up, they usually make a pulsating sound while releasing pressure though.
Maybe the brake booster or hose supplying the brake booster vacuum is leaking or ruptured, this would cause the extra pedal effort and a feeling of brake loss.
