This is not a probability of success.

0 original-poster resolution reports. Counts can overlap; they are not unique people or a success rate.

0 discussions have direct query context; 0 report a fix in that context. Other evidence may inherit the discussion’s subject.

Suspected cause

I talked to my regular Porsche independent mechanic and he mentioned that most likely the computer code that controls the interior lights (and some other functions) needs to be reset.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

8 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

My done light, and door lights, don't come on until the ignition is on...no clue why. Anybody have a wiring diagram for the light setup? thanks, Amir

POST 2Original post

do they come on when you open the pass side door?

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Nope...only on when the key is in the ignition. I'm betting it's something really stupid... Is there a seperate fuse for without ignition? A central problem like this is obviously at one point...aka near the fusebox. I just need a wiring diagram. Does anybody have one? OR Where can I buy one? OR Is there a fair shop in NJ that could trace it for me? thanks, Amir

POST 4Original post

what years your car? how long have you owned it have they ever worked.

POST 5Original post

Believe it or not, you should take it to a Porsche dealer and have the "computer "code" that handles that function checked and possibly reset. Why do I say this? Well, my wife's brand new Cayman's interior lights have not come on automatically since day one. I talked to my regular Porsche independent mechanic and he mentioned that most likely the computer code that controls the interior lights (and some other functions) needs to be reset. I called my Porsche dealer and they confirmed this, so it's actually in the shop as I type this having that taken care of. I'm guessing the 996 uses a similar setup.

POST 7 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

99. About 6 months. Never worked . thanks, Amir

POST 8Original post

i would be willing to bet they have never worked. take it to the dealer and ask them to do a handover
