Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Nic, is there any place that you can recommend to get good used 996 parts?

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Hi Guys,
I sold my 930 & bought a 95 993 3.8RS conversion one year ago.
I just sold my 993 yesterday & I am looking at a 98 996.
Please advise if I've made a right choice.
The headlights on the 996 is not in good condition & I am thinking of 02+ headlight conversion. Have anyone here done it here?
Would appreciate your input & I look forward to be with you in this forum soon.
Thank you.
I have done a conversion...you got to buy a lot of parts! And you need a good bodyshop. Since you are Singapore there is no need to refer to one in the States.
I am very glad I did the conversion....I was never a big fan of the original 996 headlights.
Why buy a car that you know needs work when there are many good 996s out there that are in great shape?
If you're already thinking of getting the '02 conversion, why not just buy an '02? That or buy a pre-'02 that's in good shape and has the options that you would like.
Just a thought. It's a pity that you're looking at a car that you say already would need attention. Better to look around for something realyl is what you want and doesn't need immediate work.
Just my $0.02
Good luck with the car search!
some times you can't get what you want for the price you want to or can pay!
I needed a cab and a tip and everything needed to be black!! I also didn't want to spend more than 45K...looking back with all the mods I could have gotten a newer (younger) P.....but I had a lot of fun modding and converting....
Thanks guys for the prompt respond.
Oreganet, thanks for your advise, unfortunately, there are not many good 996 for sale in Singapore, sometime I wish things would happened the way I want it to be.
Nicolaas is right "some times you can't get what you want for the price you want to or can pay!"
I too enjoy a slow conversion, it's like seeing a child grow up.
I spend a fortune on my first 930 conversion: 993 6 speed trans, full 993 suspensions, engine mod to 470 bhp.... the whole process is a nightmare. I didn't know how far I went until I look at a stock 930.
Nic, is there any place that you can recommend to get good used 996 parts?
I got some of my 930 & 993 parts from DC auto & LA Porsche, but trying to contact them is another nightmare, they never reply emails, I need to stay up the whole night just to get thru to them & thereafter, sent the wrong or missing parts to me.
