Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. bear in mind that this car will be used 95% on the street ( have a 83 SC trac car ), but on occasion i will take it on track.
Leading evidence: 'Use 95%' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Suggestion
$2000 + install and alignment isn't cheap, but it's a good price and the ability to adjust height and damping are handy.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

i want to upgrade the suspension on my otherwise stock 2000 996; trouble is, i don't know exactly how far i want to go.
bear in mind that this car will be used 95% on the street ( have a 83 SC trac car ), but on occasion i will take it on track.
my main concerns are lowering it a bit, and getting rid of the " floaty" feeling.
do i go for a m030 ( euro or usa ), porsche sport, x-74, or pss9?
too many choices for me!
as usual tia.

There are many threads on this topic. Do a search and you'll have hours of fantastic reading, and tons of opinions and information from fellow Rennlisters.
I chose the ROW 030. At ~$1k for a full suspension including sway bars (parts cost), I felt the value was hard to beat, and the performance is very good as well.
Which RoW M030 did you get(U.S. or Euro) and how much did it lower the car? Also, how did it affect the ride? Who did you purchase it from?
Thanks-Roger B.
The ROW 030 is the Euro version.
My car dropped 13mm front, 8mm rear.
Factory claim is 20mm front, 10mm rear from US ride height.
Ride is stiffer, but more compliant. Much better ride at anything over 25mph; below, a little stiff but well damped. I MUCH prefer the ride to stock.
I bought from Suncoast Porsche, and Sunset had the same price.
If you're looking for a
significant
drop, you'll want something other than ROW 030.
I can't compare to others, but I can say the PSS9 is an excellent setup for what you want to do. $2000 + install and alignment isn't cheap, but it's a good price and the ability to adjust height and damping are handy. (FWIW a first-timer can install any of these setups themself in about 8 hours.)
If I had it do over I would get the KW Variante 3, but if it's 95% street I would not recommend that route. It's pricier and firmer, and quite a bit more track-biased.
None of the above is to slag the other setups listed - I've got no experience with them.
I can't compare to others, but I can say the PSS9 is an excellent setup for what you want to do. You can get it usefully lower without it being "slammed", and I've had no ground clearance issues since doing it. The damping range is fairly wide, meaning that "1" is good for track but generally too firm for the street, and that "9" is too floaty - you should be able to find a setting you like. $2100 (at shox.com) + install and alignment isn't cheap, but it's a good price and the ability to adjust height and damping are handy.
