Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Leading evidence: 'Check other things' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Check other things' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

I've done the reset by disconnecting the battery for 5 minutes.
Plus, by resetting the DME by disconnecting the battery, that results in the DME resorting to the default map and it takes many drive cycles to re-establish "running conditions" where it will pass emissions test.

The only way I'm aware you can fail a smog test because of a muffler: it's leaking so much air that it prevents the test equipment from being able to function, but (at least w/ US/California emissions testing), this is picked up by the test equipment and flagged as a probable exhaust leak.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Any tips?
Cant pass the tecnical inspection here in Belgium. The CO2 is too much.
My shop blaims it on the gundo hack.
Can I fool the readings by any chance? Disconnect 2 ignition wires? (used to work on older engines).
Dont want to exchange the exhausts if its not needed...
In the USA we don't bother about CO2 as much as CO. Are your high readings CO2 or CO ?
Have you done a basic tune up and scan for codes and O2 sensor performance?
My 2002 Boxster failed an emissions test some couple of years ago.
I think the H/C (hydrocarbon) reading was high.
All readiness monitors set to complete. No CEL.
At separate times I spoke to two senior Porsche techs and both expressed surprise my car failed. They know this car pretty well.
Both advised me to take the car out for an extended drive at highway speed. I did that and a bit more, if you know what I mean and I think you do.
This in spite of the fact I had driven the car quite a bit before the test to ensure everything was up to temperature.
After a 40/50 mile drive mostly (mostly) at highway/freeway speeds back at the testing station the car passed with no problems.
Absent a CEL or one or more readiness monitors not set to complete I'd advise an extended "high speed" drive. Be sure you fill up with the proper grade of gasoline, the proper octane grade. No need to fuel up with race gas just use the proper octane (98?). Buy from a busy station to get the freshest gasoline and avoid "supermarket" gasoline as this -- based on an EVO fuel (petrol) test a few years ago -- can vary in quality.
After fresh fuel, after a nice extended high speed drive then have the car tested again.
Ow you re right..its probably CO!!
I only heard it on the phone from my shop so...
Does this change matters?
P.S. they went for a highway drive before going in...
Apreciate all help!!

Did you have it up to temperature so the cats were functioning? Cold cats = fail. Have aftermarket chip with more aggressive timing? Timing and cold won't throw a cel, but will raise emissions.
If the engine is producing too many combustion by-products...well, read the link in comment 9. There are several possible causes...and not a single one of them has to do with the mufflers, Gundoed or not.
Oh my...
It appeared to be the LAMDA value thats too high. (air/fuel mixture).
Could that be a result of the gundo?
P.S. i recently had an engine light which usually tends to be faulty ignition. I've done the reset by disconnecting the battery for 5 minutes. Could it be that this would require a OBD2 reset to make sure the ignition is corrected?
Im sorry about the dodgy info guys. Obviously I didnt ask the right questions earlier on. Excuse me.
Well, if your CEL comes on due to faulty ignition, would that lead you to believe that something is wrong and that is why you can't pass emissions test? Get the code and figure out what it is telling you. Plus, by resetting the DME by disconnecting the battery, that results in the DME resorting to the default map and it takes many drive cycles to re-establish "running conditions" where it will pass emissions test. Get a simple OBDII code reader and next time get the code(s) that pop up, then fix it.
