Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Suggestion

I would put a set of the OEM spacers on the FRONT that come on the C4S/TT when running the Sport Technos in the REAR.....they are 17mm.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Im considering buy a set of Carrera Wheels and tires off ebay. The front wheels are 8J x 18 with 57mm offset and the rear wheels are 10J x 18 with 58 mm offset. Will I have any fitment issues with these wheels fitting on a 1999 C2? Thanks, Lee

POST 2Original post

Factory specs for 18" wheels for a MY99 C2 are: front: 50 - 52 mm offset rear: 65 mm offset You can do the math for the spacers...

POST 3Original post

Rleeq - Based upon the info that both you and Loren have supplied, yes, those wheels will fit on your car without any issues. FRONT wheels - Without any spacers the "new" front wheels will be 5mm to 7mm further INSIDE the fender than the OEM wheels, so I would suggest that you add 7mm spacers to get the "new" wheels to have the same "position" as the OEM wheels. You could actually add 15mm spacers to have them 8mm farther to the out side than the current OEM wheels. REAR wheels - The "new" real wheels will extend 8mm more to the out side than the OEM wheels, but this will NOT cause you any rubbing issues. Since the rear wheels will be 8mm farther out than OEM specs, you might want to push the Front wheels farther out to "match" the extension of the Rear wheels. This is why I mentioned 15mm spacers as a second option for the Front wheels. Hope this helps! Let us know if you have any additional questions. Oh, and once you get the new wheels, please post a few "before" and "after" pics!

POST 4Original post

I would put a set of the OEM spacers on the FRONT that come on the C4S/TT when running the Sport Technos in the REAR.....they are 17mm. This setup would be like (looks-wise) adding a 10mm spacer to the front and a 8mm spacer to the rear on your current 996 wheels. New Setup: Front->17mm spacer Rear->no spacer or 5mm max.

POST 5Original post

Actually, the '99 C2 front wheels are 7.5x18 et50, not 8x18 et50, so the 8x18 et57 inside rim will be 13mm closer to the strut, and the outside rim will be 1mm further inside the fender. Correct? So, I would go with a 7mm spacer on front to get to 6mm wider than the OEM 7.5x18. (I run 7mm fronts on my OEM 7.5x18's). And for the rear, I would add 7mm spacers as well to bring the outer rim of the new wheel to 14mm further out than OEM 8x18 et65 (15mm spacers on rear of OEM et65 is best I've seen sofar, 17mm too much). Hope the math is correct.
