Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

So I check the garage and all is well but the car is clean as can be, even though I know I left it with a good amount of dust.

So, I travel for business and when I do I take the MX-5 to the airport because I don't want to leave the p-car in airport parking and can sleep soundly knowing all is safe in my garage.
I come back today and my SO tells me she has something to tell me but won't say what until I get home. I walk in the door and she says "have a beer" I say no thanks and she says "you really need a beer". So now I'm worried. She also says "I know you told me not to wash the car". So I check the garage and all is well but the car is clean as can be, even though I know I left it with a good amount of dust.
So here's the story. She and a girlfriend take the car down to Primm Nevada to do some shopping. Being very concientious she parks away from the stores in a well lit area and goes inside. As she is walking out she looks at the car and wonders how paper got all over. As she gets closer she finds out the well lit area is really under a bill board that has been infested with pigeons (or flying elephants) that saved up all day just so they can crap all over my car! She crys - her friend laughs (I'll deal with her friend another day).
Now, you'll recall I told her NOT to wash the car; but what can she do knowing I'll come unglued if I come home to a crap fest? Making a quick decision she calls the local handwash place, tells the whole story, and the fine folks at green valley hand carwash take pity on her. George at the car wash walks the car through the tunnel making sure nothing bad happens during the wash process and then they take great care in hand drying. All in all the best that can be expected from a car wash. So...the moral of the story is stay away from billboards and watch for flying elephants!
LOL...we got one of those billboards around here too. They put some sort of devise that keeps the birds away. I'll be the first to give your SO "props", she did have the crap removed. I would much rather spend an intimate afternoon buffing out swirl-marks from my P-car than looking at etched blobs in my paint......p.s. hide the keys next time...
It will destroy your paint on a dark colored surface panel. I had a dark blue Blazer years ago, left out in direct sunlight for maybe 2 hours. It etched into my paint. Always wash off immediately, trust me, you'll be glad you did. If you keep your car in near flawless condition, it seems even worse. It will "rainbow" the spot in a matter of minutes. I guess it depends on what the flying-rat ate for dinner as well.
Youre married so your car is her car and her car is her car so just be happy she respects you enough to go have the car washed. I would say she did a good job, my wife would have probably driven my car through a car wash with the spinning cleaners and I would be outside cussing at her (out of her hearing) with my Porter Cable buffer getting the spider webs out.
Or train you spouse right. My wife won't even attempt to drive the P. She knows I'll blow a gasket if something happens on her watch. She just doesn't want the potential aggravation.
We both understand the "rules": I don't drive "her" car (BMW 335i Twin Turbo), and she doesn't drive "mine." And we're ok with that

No one can mess with your Beauty if this is the case...... Unfortunately and fortunately i ONLY have 1 set of keys.... so it's always with me....... stay away from tress too....... for some reason flying elephants can climb........
My wife is afraid of the 6 speed, no suprise trips...at least your girl did the best under the circumstances. And yes, those guys at Green Valley are consistent and good! I hope it all works out well for your clear coat!
