Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

9 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I know most don't believe in performance from ECU upgrades and Intake upgrades but humor me in regards to the following question. I have the GIAC and EVO intake, if I get an exhaust do I have to go back to have my ECU reprogrammed?

POST 2Original post

I would think only if you did an exhaust by-pass would you need to. Otherwise, no. My $.02

POST 3Original post

POST 4Original post

Funny you asked. I recently had my ECU re-mapped by evoms. I also have their v-flow prior to the ecu. I spoke to Todd at evoms and he told me that the ecu does not require to be re-mapped if you up-grade the exhaust. The ecu however needs some time to learn the new exhaust in order for you to recieve the benefits from the exhaust. I recently installed Fabspeed mufflers and headers and the combination of all their parts is great!

POST 5Original post

do you feel any difference in terms of performance, feel, etc..... if you were to do it again..... would you?

POST 6Original post

In response to Porsche Smile: This question is often asked...and most folks who have done what you did or intend to do....respond with the unscientific "it feels so much faster, better, more responsive....etc". I had mine flashed with the GIAC flash, EVOMS intake, performance headers and mufflers....and the literature I've read states that you'll pick up somewhere around 18-30 HP. After I had mine done, I (like so many of the other folks who didn't dyno before and after) ....definitely noticed improved acceleration and performance. Some of the "noticeable performance" comes from the more aggressive sound you get from the EVOMS cool air intake during acceleration.....and from my perspective, the money was well worth the investment in the mods. If you're looking for concurrence or justification....I don't think you'll find too many folks who have done it who will say that it's not worth it. My only regret was that I installed Schnell mufflers....and in retrospect, I would have liked to have installed mufflers that were just a bit more robust and throaty....something along the lines of perhaps the GHL. Brian at GHL is offering Rennlist folks a deal on the mufflers thru the end of January .....I'm seriously considering it. Bottom line...yes, it was worth it....but I think an actual HP increase would require you to do the GIAC flash, Cool Air Intake, mufflers, and headers.

POST 7Original post

Chuck..... you're the first who has given an answer worth thanking..... that's all i wanted to hear.......

POST 8 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I don't "feel anything". You will not feel much of anything when HP increases by 15hp to the wheels. You will see it on the dyno and when racing against a stock 996, quite clearly. If you want to feel something check into Forced Induction. And yes, I would do it again.

POST 9Original post

thanks washington.... i don't think the meaning of "feel anything" is the issue as much .... i know 15hp compared to 300 is minuscue....... but i wanted to know is how much smoother, how much better is the drive to validate the $1K price tag....... but looks like those who likes it, LIKES IT, and those who don't thinks it's okay.......
