Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Well...its for HARD accelerating and HARD braking when the front moves up and down, and this is to keep the lights on the road....does not have anything to do with driving and others seeing your lights....If your lights ar adjusted properly, it will not blind oncoming traffic...besides they are POINTED to the right so it DOES NOT blind traffic..thats why you are not supposed to use lights from a right hand drive car from the UK..the lights are pointed to the LEFT.
Leading evidence: 'Install xenon headlights come' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). I love the plate that covers the indicators..makes the car look a little less naked, basic.but that is very personal ofcourse...same goes for the rings...it is all removable.....use a blow dryer to warm the double stick tape and carefully remove.

These are separate views of the same evidence. Frequency alone does not establish a fix, and these counts must not be added together.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Thinking of trading in my 2001 for a 2004 (Identical to tim Ks car). One that I am looking at looks good except for two things which i hope rennlist brethren can help with
1) Are post 2002 non-xenon headllights retrofittable to xenon?
and
2) Regarding the below picture, 1) Are the aluminium trim rings OEM, or after market, and more importantly, #2, what the hell is that thing covering the indicators... and is it removable?
Thanks,
Ross
Hi:
Not sure about the Xenons but have you tried searching the forum? This has been discussed I am sure. My recollection is that this is a very expensive endeavor.
OnN your second issues, I have aluminum trim ring as an OEM option but these ones look aftermarket. That thing covering the indicator looks like a blade off an old pair of skates. I would definitely remove it.
I love the plate that covers the indicators..makes the car look a little less naked, basic.but that is very personal ofcourse...same goes for the rings...it is all removable.....use a blow dryer to warm the double stick tape and carefully remove.
Sell it on ebay..the indicator plate is $45+s/h new....
Yes you can add the Xenons....about $1000 a set used...they are plug and play if you dont want the hi beam feature which points the beam up when you hit the hi beams....you will not get the slf leveling feature as this hardware is in the frame of the car and installed at the factiry...in order to get that feature, you would have to strip the car down to the frame and install the sensors and rebuild it...not worth the money for that feature.
Newport.....sure about that? I did the research on that and found that they are NOT plug-n-play like the 99-01 was. There is more to it in the 02+ cars than just plug-n-play.
Hmm....I am almost 100% sure....I did the 02+ conversion and put Litronics on it when it did not have them originally....all that was needed was the updated harness to go from 99-01 lights to 02+. Litronics or non Litronics were never a question.
Actually, this is one of the responses I got when I investigated this very thing.
The Porsche Tequipment kit doesn't include the self leveling feature. The factory installed xenon headlights come with motors that run when you turn-on the lights, and liquid washers. They need to read the input from the sensor located on the control arm (n/a on non-xenon cars). This sensor is also a 1mm shim, so it affects camber and caster.
You will need washer fluid lines, leveling sensors and expend time wiring the system. Then you need to re-align the car. All this pain and cost is not worth it IMHO.
It's better to find the car with HID. I doubt a car with HID carries a premium on the used market.
I didnt add washers and the self leveling was not THAT important to me....so I guess we are both correct...lol...if you want self leveling, you CANNOT add that...if you want the Litronic lights that will act just like your Halogens..then they are plug and play.

I found this out when I found a BARGAIN on Litronics from the UK....they told me that the beams are pointed in different directions....they also have different part numbers.
