Roebling is filled with large radius turns and was the perfect track to test cornering.
Leading evidence: 'Fill with large radius turns and was the perfect track' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Fill with large radius turns and was the perfect track' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

while i didn't test different settings at roebling (ran on full hard) i do remember having to dial it down quite a bit for road atlanta.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hey guys just finished a major suspension rework on my 01 996. Im quite happy with the results aesthetically; Im going to the track this weekend and will report back with perfomance observations. It's quite low and I've already noticed I need to be careful with speed bumbs and driveways. Luckily, the roads very nice here in GA. The car is NOT a daily driver!
I'd like to thank previous posters for all of the information on this forum that helped me decide on what components to go with.
Also thanks to Dan at Vivid for getting me the gear!
Parts list:
J.I.C. Cross Competition Coilovers
GT3 Front and Rear sway bars
TRG front drop links
Agency Power rear drop links
Agency Power rear control arms
Pagid RS19 Yellow front brake pads
Pagid RS14 Black rear brake pads
Pilot Sport Cup tires
My initial ride height measurements were as follows (ground to fender, through axle):
LF: 26 9/16 (675mm)
RF: 26 9/16 (675mm)
LR: 26 5/16 (668mm)
RR: 26 6/16 (670mm)
Ride height post install (almost dead on to GT3 specs):
LF: 25 7/16 (646mm)
RF: 25 8/16 (648mm)
LR: 25 4/16 (641mm)
RR: 25 4/16 (641mm)
The biggest difference, besides ride height, we able to achieve was the addition of negative camber in the front thanks to the integrated camber plates on the JIC coilovers. The negative camber in addition to the PSCs should do wonders at the track. We used the Kussmaul GT3 settings as a guide (added a bit more neg camber). Final alignment numbers:
Front:
Camber: - 2.7 degrees
Total Toe: 0.10 degrees
Caster: 8.5 degrees
Rear:
Camber: -2.5 degrees
Total Toe: 0.33 degrees
Thrust angle: 0.01 degrees

Thanks! Now it's off to the track!

This is very close to the setup that I've decided to put on my car before spring.
Can't wait to hear the feedback after a track day.
What spring rates did you go with on the JIC's and are you starting with the GT3 bars set in the stock GT3 location (1 from full stiff front and rear)?
Andy
who did the install and what track are you going to? its wayyy too cold in atlanta right now to be tracking ...burrrr!!!
btw cheers on the JIC - i have a set on my 996 as well but without the rear adjustible links
You're cold in Athens, GA and your handle is
penquinking
?
Gonna be 68F Sat and 70F Sun after lows about 50F. Sounds good for RA to me!
Also sounds good for top-down street drives!
The mid-level: 8kg/12kg. One from full stiff in back and mid level (hole 3) in front as a starting point.
Partial self-install, but Dean at Americas Best in Roswell is the alignment god - highly recommend if you can make the trip from Athens.
Going to Roebling Road in Savannah - looks like mid-70's on Saturday, should be great weather!
Thanks for the feedback guys - more to come next week!

let us know how Roebling was - which group held the event this weekend? I love my JIC's - they feel so comfortable on soft and they absolutely perform on the medium/ higher settings. i bet it would still be streetable on full soft.
Wow, what a difference the upgrades made! I've never been to this track before, so I don't have comparative data, but the difference in the "feel" of the car is amazing. A few main observations:
High speed front end "float" is gone!
At other track events in the past, I noticed the front of the car felt very light and unsure at speeds over 100mph. Gone! Saw speeds up to 140mph at Roebling and the car felt planted the whole time.
Car ran quite neutral
I'm happy with our initial stab with ride height, sway bar settings and dampening adjustment. Roebling is filled with large radius turns and was the perfect track to test cornering. Oversteer/understeer seemed non-existent, at least given my current ability and skill.
Braking ability was amazing
The combination of the Pagid race pads and the fact the car did not nose dive any more allowed me to go deeper and deeper into the brake zones as the day progressed. I actually don't think I'm anywhere near the limits of the system yet.
Roebling was great. It's been recently paved, which in talking to others who have been before they said it desperately needed. I was with a private rental with 15 guys, so we got tons of runs in and the track always clear of traffic.
congrats! do you remember what settings you used for the JIC's? I run mine about 4 or so clicks from full stiff, and i've been playing around with settings each session to figure out whats right for each track.
YES - the new pavement is so much easier on tires. if you didn't drive the old pavement consider yourself lucky
while i didn't test different settings at roebling (ran on full hard) i do remember having to dial it down quite a bit for road atlanta. <--- say, i think i'm starting to understand this whole "tuning" bit!
