Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I am running stock as of now, but curios if the more expensive kit is far superior in performance or longevity?

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.
6 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

Going to need to do full brake job on my 2003 C4S and saw these 2 kits:
$667

VS:
$957

Anyone have any opinions on the rotors and pads used in each kit? Textar pads vs hawk? And the different Sebro rotors?
The links are for brake service kits, not brake replacement kits (I know OP knows this, but the subject suggests NEW brakes...heck, that's why I clicked).
If you're driving stock brakes now, the cheap kit should be just fine.
Fair enough, poor choice of verbiage for the subject. I am running stock as of now, but curios if the more expensive kit is far superior in performance or longevity? Worth the extra money?
It's tough to say that one setup is "superior" - there is always a trade-off. Harder pads are more durable; softer pads have more bite. Slotted rotors are going to help with outgassing, cut through glazing, and the slots increase surface area to increase cooling capacity. If you need a slotted rotor instead of the factory drilled rotors, it makes sense to upgrade.
If you don't have any brake requirements that have left you wanting more from the stock brakes, there is little to be gained from "upgrading" to "better" pads. Note that if you DO go with "better" pads - i.e. they generate more friction - they will also generate additional heat that needs to be managed.
Both rotors and pads are sacrificial (i.e. wear items that are replaced once depleted) - so using the least expensive parts that meet/exceed your requirements makes the most sense. If you're buying a supercharger or turbo, buying a "better" one makes more sense, since it will (hopefully) last for years.
When I bought brakes, I decided what I wanted, then put together a little spreadsheet with the all-in cost from various vendors. That helped me figure out the lowest total cost for the combination of products.
IIRC, I ended up getting the best pricing from Jason at warehouse33auto.com. I've bought from ECS many times and have nothing but good things to say about them, but Jason saved me a fair amount of money over the ECS kit. Obviously, your mileage may vary.
FWIW, my car is street only, no track or autocross. I went with Sebro rotors & sensors and Stoptech Sport pads. Also FWIW, my pad selection was less about improved performance than lower dust production.
Thank's guys, all great info. And this is the 2nd time today I have seen warehouse33auto.com on the forum, I finally looked it up and looks like a great source for a lot of stuff. I will be checking in with them to put together a set.
