I know 1 person running 18x12" rears with 315/30 MPSCs on a GT3, with fender rolling and no monoballs they rubbed.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hi, I just purchased a 03 C2 and would love to get a set of the 19" GT3 wheels off the 997 and put them on my car, does any one know if they will fit, I know the 996 GT3 was a narrow body, is the 997 as well?
Also does anyone know where I could get those wheels from, I know they are going to be pricey but I love the look.
Thanks
Arthur
No, the rears won't fit. The 997 has more rear tire/wheel clearance than a 996. The only way you could get buy would be converting to all monoballs and rolling the fender. I know 1 person running 18x12" rears with 315/30 MPSCs on a GT3, with fender rolling and no monoballs they rubbed. Second, if you check the GT3 threads, these wheels are not that light. You would be better off aftermarket.
A set of GT3 wheels were just listed on ebay for sale by a reputable Porsche dealer. Call them and find out if they will fit on your car.

Thanks guys!
So what is the fitment issue? Is the wheel to wide in general or is it offset incorrectly?
Also for a 996 newbie whats a monoball?
Aftermarket is what I was origonally looking at but I am a huge fan of the GT3 wheels and would kinda like to keep mine all stock porsche...
Thanks for your help!

No these will not fit...they will be about an inch too wide....they ar 19x12's with a 68 offset, so they sit as far inthe wheel well as possible, but they will stock out about an inch. They will work with widebody 996's.....
Actually the offset is not bad. They won't stick out like you think. In fact, they will stick out less than a 996 Turbo/C4S 18x11 50mm offset. Inboard clearance is another issue.
One thing I didn't consider is changes to the rear suspension on a 997 from a 996. Remember that they also widened the track on the 997 from the 996 by changing the subframes and lengthening the control arms, although they are essentually the same chassis. This means with the hubs located further from the chassis, there is also more inboard clearance on a 997. In fact, I am pretty sure you will need a 10-20 mm space to get them to fit the rear of a 996 Turbo or C4S. Does the RS use the same wheel and a spacer or a different offset wheel from the GT3?
I have 997 C2 Sport designs on my narrow body 996. They are 19x11 67 offset. The fit perfectly no rubbing on the inside, but there is NOT an inch of clearance at the fender....MAYBE 1/8"....so I am not sure where you are gonna get an inch of clearance at the fender. You will not need a spacer to get them on a widebody 996. They will fit fine and clear.
Charlie, Yeah you're right! I guess the "Holiday Spirit" is still upon us and we feel like "giving" by cutting the Newbies a little slack. I'm sure that by the start of next week we'll be back in the "BAH, HUMBUG" mode!
