Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

While a stiffer suspension and better exhaust are on my list for upgrades to Violet in 2007, so are baby seats. We're expecting twins in the spring, so the "larger" back seat will come in handy. This would have been next to impossible in the 993, and was actually one of the reasons I made the move to my 996 as well (BTW, having a very eventful autumn is one of the reasons that I haven't been posting ). Naturally, I've subscribed to a bunch of the baby seat threads! Wishing you all a very Happy New Year!

POST 2Original post

Welcome back! Congrats. on the twins. do a search on my threads from a couple of months ago and you'll see the efforts in finding seats that fit. Good luck!

POST 3Original post

Congrats! Enjoy the car...you might wanna look into the PSS9's for suspension, the adjustability may be nice with the baby seats....

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks- Your seat post was one of the first ones that I found. The PSS9 suggestion is definitely one to consider!

POST 5Original post

Bill, congrats on the twins - I have a set of identical 22yo boys (fortunately with their own cars). Conveniently, I'm a pediatrician as well. Lots of good car seats out there to pick from. Obviously find a couple that will fit the Porsche. There have been some prior threads on this topic with good suggestions. And remember to keep them facing backwards until they're 20 lbs AND 1 year old!! Good luck with the Porsche and the babies!!

POST 7Original post

Congrats! I just bought my 996 to replace an S2000 because I need a back seat for my new baby boy. So far it is the most expensive and most fun child accessorie I have purchased. AA

POST 8 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks- I've mentioned before that one of the other reasons that I went to a 996 from my 993, was that my wife missed the layout of our Boxster's interior. So I told her that the 996 would be like a Boxster w/a backseat for the kids (and a LOT more ponies )

POST 9Original post

Hi - I just went through the research process of a baby seat for my 99 C2 coupe. Ended up going with a Recaro Younge Sport seat and am very pleased with the results. Very safe seat. Very stable and - it looks like it belongs in the car.

POST 10Original post

Britax makes the porsche "baby safe" seat that should include the bar that once installed disables the front airbag.

POST 11Original post

The Britax Roundabout, for when they are ready for forward-facing seats, are great in the back.

POST 12Original post

Yeah, but my logic when I was buying was that I could pay slightly more and get a much safer seat in the Recaro Young Sport.

POST 13Original post

I have to agree with oreganet. Metal frame, side impact wings. Special baby seat.

POST 14Original post

I will say though that the fit is not quite as good as I was hoping for... fitting it can take some patience to get it in place without any movement, but once you get it right it's rock solid. Another thing about the Recaro is that it goes all the way up to 80lbs without the need for another seat - basically it's the only seat you'll ever need once you transfer out of the infant seat.
