Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I did reglue it with two-part plastic weld type glue purchased at Tap Plastics...probably a type of epoxy.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I have a 2003 996 cab bought used at a dealer still with factory warranty. I noticed when examining the windscreen the other day that the frame is broken. I havnt tried installing yet so I dont know if it will still work. Is this typically a warranty repair. Also have second key which the remote features dont work. Have changed battery. Do they both need reprograming and is is warranty?
It might look broken.....when I bought my P..they had taken it out..luckily I ask for one (normally $400).
they didn't have a 2nd key however...and after a couple of weeks my 1st key gave up...total cost for 2 new keys $495.......
new key is abt 250 programmed. it's a warranty item. you can try resetting it by reversing the battery polarity for 15 sec. if not, you'll need to visit dealer.
for windscreen, what do u mean frame is broken? u mean there is a cut in the window seal? if it's not cut by someone and it's original glass, it should be covered under warranty.
The wind screen I am referring to is the one where you place behind the seats on a cab to reduce the wind on the back of your head. Sorry for the confusion.
oh yes, that wind screen! it probly broken when someone jammed the seat backwards which is easy to do. if the netting has marks on it, i doubt it's under warranty. It's also available on ebay. Be sure to check part number as wide body (c4S and turbo cabs) have different width.
My windscreen frame also broke, right at the center forward hinge. Probably tried forcing the frame hinge the wrong way when folding once, but who knows.
I did reglue it with two-part plastic weld type glue purchased at Tap Plastics...probably a type of epoxy. It's held together so far.
Mine broke also, in the same place (top hinge). It does not seem to affect the operation. I have been using it like that for the past two years. I thought about getting a new one, but as long as it works and does not look broken, I can live with it.
My windscreen also broke near the hinge on my 04 C2 Cab. The dealer replaced it with a new unit under warranty. No questions asked. It should be covered for you as well if the car is still under warranty.
