Jim, I had the mufflers installed by Porsche this summer.

Just purchased a set of take off used factory PSE mufflers and was wanting to know the part number for the electrical/vacuum install kit.

Or if anyone has an un-used/unwanted kit they would like to sell I would be intersted in that also.

I also plan on doing a seat heater retrofit using aftermarket heater kits and the factory switches, but more on that in the next few weeks.

Also, for you heated seats, will be difficult to use the stock switches, as they are not simple on/off switches, but rather control relays and have two heat settings.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Or if anyone has an un-used/unwanted kit they would like to sell I would be intersted in that also. I will be putting them on anyways without the kit for now but do want to do the full install mainly for the gadget factor. I will punch the hole for the vacuum hose while I'm under the car putting on the mufflers. Any other tips while I am in there. I also plan on doing a seat heater retrofit using aftermarket heater kits and the factory switches, but more on that in the next few weeks. I will post my pics and how-to's when I figure everything out.
Thanks in advance

I did a PSE install last summer, got the cans on ebay, and the wiring, etc. from a member here that installed the cans but did not want the wiring. I can probably get the numbers for the parts for you, but the PET program is on my computer at the office. You might try to search the threads here and on Renntech.org. there are alot of them showing the install and they may have part numbers.
Also, for you heated seats, will be difficult to use the stock switches, as they are not simple on/off switches, but rather control relays and have two heat settings. Go to

and look in his boxster section for a great write up on adding heated seats with the OEM parts. I did it last year, adapting it to a 996. You can get the OEM cushions for less that $400 from Sunset, i think I paid a total of about $600 for the cushions, switches, relays, batwing, etc. etc. Let me know if you are interested as I have an upated list for the parts for a 996.
On another note, I see you have a 82 928 and a 2000 996. I sold my 82 928 in 2000, after driving it for 15 years, to buy my 2000 C4 cab. Love my cab, but still miss the 928.

I have been looking for the part numbers but have not found one for the kit, just endividual numbers like the switch and solenoid, but I would like the whole kit so I get the hoses and all. I also was hoping someone had a kit they did not want, hate to see parts sitting around not being used. As for the seats I was thinking I might have to use the stock Porsche relay with the switches to make the two stage heat work. I was going to compare the factory wiring diagram with the aftermarket diagram to see what kind of combination I can do. I am pretty familiar with all auto wiring so I think I can figure a way. I would like the parts list though as I am sure it would have the relay listed which would help me out.
Yes I have a 82 928. I really enjoy it too. It is my daily driver and track car for DE's. It has proven itself very reliable for over a year as my daily driver.
Thanks for the info

Jim, I had the mufflers installed by Porsche this summer. I had them skip the wiring and switches because they wanted so much to do that. Actually, I'm glad I did because I don't think PSE is very loud at all anyways. I know that is personal preference but You may want to hear how loud (not) they are before planning and purchasing the wiring kit to quiet them. I do understand the gadget part and that's cool too, you're call.
If you are still interested in the kit I'm sure I could make you happy with a deal. I believe I also have the entire Porsche install instructions too. Email me if you have further interest.

I did the switch install and I am very glad I did. I have a cab and sometimes it's nice to quiet things down a bit. The switch itself only comes in matte black so to make it match the rest of your switches you may want to spray some clear laquer on it before install.

I did the install but didn't use the electronics. I bought everything from Brandywine Porsche about six months ago. Make me an offer for the electronics if you want...
