Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

6 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Edmunds' lists the same 38.0" head room for the Cab & Coupe. It's been a while since I drove both, it wasn't back to back, & I can't remember if the coupe had a PMR or not. I'll be checking myself, but wanted your opinions. How does the head room compare between a circa '00 cab & coupe w/o PMR? My memory is the Cab had a greater feeling of spaciousness. I was also shocked at the quiet insulation w/ the roof up. How long do the roofs last parked inside in California? Price to replace? At first I wanted only a coupe, but I'm not going to track it & am now leaning toward the cab. Is a Y2K coupe w/power driver seat but no PMR practically non-existent? It occurs to me that every car made w/ power driver seat would also have a PMR. It would seem strange to spend the money on one luxury but not the other, unless special ordered by a tall person. Thanks for your consideration. Jimbo

POST 2Original post

why not sit in both coupe and cab and compare yourself? I think they are about the same height if an inch difference at all. most coupe has sunroof. i think that's what you mean by PMR right? (power moon roof??) i'd get a 02+ if you get a cab. not only you'll get 3.6L, newer look and slightly better interior, you'll get a glass backglass as well. separation of vinyl window and top is very common for 99-01. how long the top last really depends on how well you treat it. i park my car inside and when outside for a day, i'd cover it. use of top protectant also makes the top last longer. a new aftermarket top is about 1500 and OEM is about 2x.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

My investments gotta do well to get an '02! But I absolutely appreciate the advice. Better to weigh the differences pre vs. post-purchase! Weighing a Cab vs. Coupe for purely the difference in interior space, one could also consider a coupe + the cost of removing the tunnel console, installing a smaller steering wheel &/or a seat swap as mentioned elsewhere. Greater security, performance, possibly lower insurance cost and no roof replacements. Were NVH (noise, vibration, harshness) also upgraded effective '02? A post-'02 Cab was the nicest car I've driven, wanted to drive it home on the spot. Revving it was bliss. Jimbo

POST 4Original post

after getting my 99....... if i would have to do it over. i would have gotten the 02..... like it was mention above, the facelift, 3.6l and revised interior makes up for it........

POST 5Original post

I think virtually all coupes have a sunroof. At 6'4"/215lbs, headroom was marginal on my '02 coupe. I now find that I'm more comfortable in a GT3 seat on BK lowering mounts, than I was in a full power seat. I missed the heated seat this morning, though.
