Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

It now just cost me the cost of the fluid (I use AP 550) and 30 minutes of my time.
Leading evidence: 'Use ap 550) and 30 minutes of my time' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Clean lines' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

So, I have an '03 C4S. Was charged $ 660 for 15K mile service. Included in that was new brake fluid and cleaning the lines. Just had 30K mile service at different dealer. Was charged $885. How badly was I jobbed on the 15K service?
i don't know about the 15K but my 30K was $1000........ personally, i think for the 15K you can have it done somewhere else.......although i think the price is about right....
Here in CA, 996 15k service was $550 and the (4th year) brake fluid purge was an additional $300!
Obviously, I do my own given those prices - can't be justifying putting $700 profit in my stealerships pockets.
I don't put 15K on a year, but I am doing an annual service. I clean the radiators myself (about $250 at the dealer). I have a K&N intake, so I just clean and oil the air filter myself. Replacing the factory air filter is $30-35 for the filter and .5 hours labor(why? It takes a minute to do). I replace my own air filter. The carbon filter was $53 and again the book shows .5 hours labor (Why?). Last, I do let my dealer do the Oil and Filter change, check and lube. I let them do it so they can inspect what I may have missed and I can get my dealer stamp for the service. They give me a 15% discount for being a PCA member, so this cost me $143 and I got the dealer stamp in my owner's manual. My total maintenance bill will all parts and labor was only about $200 by comparison.
My dealership charges $175 for a brake flush, but again there is a 15% discount for PCA. Ruf is a little cheaper. I have gone the cheapest route and bought a power bleeder for about $50. It now just cost me the cost of the fluid (I use AP 550) and 30 minutes of my time.
My 15K is $85 and an hour of my time, the 30K including brake flush is $135 and 90 minutes of my time, and the 60K is estimated at $185 and two hours of my time.
Why would anyone pay more than that for an oil and filter change?
No ****
Firstly, this is SoCal, and so everything is overpriced any way
Secondly, this stealership is usually 20% more than the next nearest one in San Diego
Thirdly, it's a stealership, that's what they do!
They are however useful as a parts department, and local source of engineering advice.
Oh, and free food when they host a Porsche club evening!
